Urgh I know I'm being prudish and I should just not look at it but seriously?!

A couple who I'm friends with on fb just had an anniversary weekend lots of lovely photos so I was clicking through them when I came across one of them lying in bed you can't see anything as such its more of a head/neck shot but it looks like they are in bed with no clothes on cuddled up and in one of them they are snogging.

Am am being completely unreasonable/prudish to think that those kinds of photos are for the private stash!

Ugh. I hate it when people over share on FB.
Yanbu or prudish.

I prefer to think of it as having boundaries!

Was it necessary? Do they think they're the only people in the world who snuggle up and snog in bed? Why show everyone else?
YANBU and you're not a prude either!

That's just yuk.
And no one would ever describe me as a prude. Grin

They had someone deliberately take those photos so they could post them on Facebook? Shock Who the hell do they think wants to see???
Some people really do imagine themselves to be celebrities in their own lives, complete with fan base to ooh and ahh at every move they make.
Amazing.

YABU no big deal. Now my friends shared the wife's full nude glamour shots, including one where she had her back to the camera and was clutching her ankles...now that was oversharing!

Oh, that's just unpleasant. Nothing to do with being prudish, I don't think, just cringey

Couples taking these kinds of photos doesn't make me cringe. Couples uploading these kinds of photos to the internet so the world can see how so in love and sexy they are makes me clench my sphincter.

I thought it was bad that I have a friend that constantly posts lovey dovey shots of her DH and her snuggled up with their bath robes on on top of the bed, kissing and cuddling. Envy

Haha. No, if you're a prude then so am I!

A friend is a reasonably good photographer (amateur) and has just started a small business doing "Boudoir" shoots. And posts them online. Lots of photos of women in bras. Very interesting Confused.

YANBU - I can't stand things like this.

I have a huge list of things that if people do or post I delete them instantly. These include -

  • any homophobic, racist, extremist political party likes / links etc (unfortunately there are a lot of these nowadays).

  • people tagging themselves or their children in hospital!!!! Confused

  • people who post vague comments like 'don't know what to do or who to turn to' and don't elaborate and loads of morons reply saying 'what wrong hun, text me'.

  • photos of their child's every single achievement including 'first poo on the potty' (yes I actually had this on my newsfeed from someone - instant delete)!

  • people who post relationship details, break ups, comments, too many lovey dovey photos etc.

There are more but these are the basic. I know I sound like a bitch but I don't care and I don't want to see that shit on my news feed! Wink

It's a bit cringey and over sharing to post them on FB

I have a friend who posts arty black and white selfies of him and his girlfriend in their under crackers. I'm embarrassed for them

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that find this cringe!

Repellent. I'm not a prude; at home I'll happily march about in my pants and the kids can be as nudey as they like (except on the lounge sofa, we're not complete savages). But that whole "lets take a selfie while we kiss" thing makes me want to be sick. Out of both ends. If you need to prove your love on Facebook, your love is nothing but candy floss about to dissolve in the first rain shower life throws at it.

Is it terrible that I always think 'marriage problems' if someone changes their profile picture to one of their wedding day?

Report
Charlotte3333 · 26/01/2015 14:24

Hahaha no, I think the exact same thing unless it's their wedding anniversary. And even then, it must only stay for that one day.

Report
Catzeyess · 26/01/2015 14:26

Haha yes - the more loved up on fb the more issues behind closed doors!

They sound like total dicks. Just like the old school 'friend' of mine who uploaded her whole boudoir shoot and has changed her profile picture to one of her in a basque and suspenders, baps out, lolling across a bed. Just no.

Same here. I also think that vow renewals are a sure sign that someone has been unfaithful.

As above and above and above....

Yup, trying too hard to show how 'happy' they are.
