AIBU?

to hate frozen

it's time for it to go away. never liked the songs, found the movie boring. a year later and it's stilll everywhere, frozen parties, frozen toys, people quoting frozen songs saying "let it go" all the time, frozen everything. every conversation with someone with kids in the age range to like it has frozen in it. so, so tired of hearing it mentioned.

i remember there being hype over moves when i was a kid, but not lasting over a year.

it seems socially unacceptable to hate frozen, so iam prob being u, but there must be some ppl here who share my view?

I want to hate it and say I'm sick of it but I actually quite don't mind it and I think the songs are pretty good.

I don't get it either.
I hate that style of singing.
And I'm baffled by grown women I know who play the music and sing along when the DCs aren't even around.

I remember seeing posters/ trailers when the film came our and thinking 'oh great a winter Disney film with Northern Lights and reindeer etc' ...that'll be good.
WRONG!

YANBU i like the film but all the hype and merchandise and everything being about frozen is driving me bonkers. It's gone too far. There is a new hairdresser opened near my workplace that randomly has a massive frozen mural type thing all over the windows Hmm
Most of the merchandise is overpriced tat. I was about 8 when beauty and the beast came out and it was popular but no where near the levels of what frozen has become.
I'm so grateful that my lovely DS hates it Grin

I saw it r the first time over Christmas and was very underwhelmed considering all the hype. That song has taken over from Pharrell William's awful 'Happy' as my most annoying tune.

the Lego Movie however, was ossum!

From the sounds of the OP it sounds like you do not have a frozen obsessive living with you?

If this is the case then yabvu to think you are anywhere near the actual human endurance level of frozen discussions, songs, toys or well, anything.

Suck it up! Think of poor defenceless people like me whose child got a snow glow elsa who sings for Christmas then tell me YOURE sick of it.

You. Have. No. Idea.

I've never seen it, I know Let It Go is a song from it but I've never actually heard it. I think I'd like to keep it that way.

I have never seen the film and yet know who Elsa is, the fact that an Elsa dress and/or doll is compulsory if you are a child under 7 and every single word to let it go. From a film I have NEVER SEEN.

YADNBU I'm sick of it..... Enough already!

My thoughts are with you and your family 3062 at this difficult time.

I haven't seen Frozen but the 'let it go' joke is even more tedious than when people used to see 'Whassssssuppppppppp' in the style of that Budweiser ad from a few years ago.

What annoys me about the film is that it is all thr parent's fault: their daughter has ice powers that she cannot control, so rather than helping her to do so, they instead lock her away Hmm

They show favouritism to the younger daughter by effectively allowing her to live her life in complete ignorance of her beloved elder sister's suffering.

Elsa clearly has mental health issues as a result of the parent's failures Sad

Plot aside, the female protagonists are still too conventional in their looks; they promote and propagate western female stereotypes of beauty. I really wish that was different.

I do love it, mind, how it is Anna who saves Elsa Grin Oh, it gets me, does that Smile

So, I understand why want it to disappear, but on the whole, it's a pretty good so YA a bit U.

It's every where and I have a 5 year old obsessed frozen fan.

I wish I could let it go, but it's every where I go.

Bloody sick of it all. Then in tesco they had a frozen bedroom kit fo £50 which is 1 tin of paint, 1 mural and a packet of paste.

I've just sat down with a cup of tea after painting 4yo DDs room white. Next on to-do list is snowflake wallpaper and lilac/blue bed canopy.

I LOVE it. If it was big enough i'd move in myself Wink she's just gone from being an only child to a big sister so really it couldn't have come at a better time. Shes already chosen an Elsa picture for above her bed and an Anna one for DD2s cot.

I think its a beautiful story about sisterly love, and after watching Beauty and the Beast with her last night its a damn sight better than the "inspirational princesses" I grew up with!

I've never seen it.

Neither of my 2 are particularly interested in it so I've managed to escape it. Even DD2 who usually watches movies over and over and over and over fuck you Snow Buddies! again hasn't watched it much

I will scream if I hear that bloody Let It Go song many more times though
