  1. My house is full of stuff. Clutter and 15 years of detritus. How do I get rid?

  1. I want to move to somewhere new. I need a change. H and the Ds don't.

  1. I'd like a holiday. A break. Time off. Not going to happen. Too poor. Too much stuff to do.

  1. I hate winter and want to kill myself and/or hibernate.

  1. I am feeling hormonal.

  1. I am fat and ugly. I plan the usual january diet/detox shit but not holding out much hope. It's not worked for the last 25 years.

  1. Poor me.

I need to make some plans for next year to dispell all the above.

Can you go out for a walk or do some gardening? Clears my head.

If you sold all the clutter would you have enough to go on a holiday?

Agree with selling the clutter. Pick two rooms, ebay the oaky stuff car boot the rest.

Tell dp and dc if they help money goes on joint holiday if not you will holiday alone.

I was in a terrible mood yesterday the buildup of Christmas leaves you feeling awful.

Can you find a change that isn't about moving, new job or activity?

Re hating winter. You aren't getting enough vitamin d. Every day that there is somr sun go for a short walk in it. Even just ten minutes. Let the sun sit on your face. Aldo pick up some vitamin d tablets. Noy sure if they work but they are cheap and I take them eaxh winter.

I keep thinking of a holiday in the sun. There's a cheap apartment in Lanzarote where I've stayed with my sister before. But I can't go on holiday in January & she's going away when I've got Annual Leave.

I only like winter when it snows. But it rarely snows down here in the South.

It's sunny now - get outside and get some sun on your face.

You sound really down op and all the problems you have listed will appear overwhelming if you tackle them in one go.

Firstly with the clutter...set yourself small goals. How about today you sort out one drawer? Get a bin bag and chuck out the stuff you don't use. Tidy up the things you need to keep. Don't try and do a whole room at a time. Sort out a corner or a cupboard at a time.

When it comes to January diets..don't do an extreme diet or detox. I have and they never work and are impossible to stick to. Make small changes. Reduce portion sizes and instead of a biscuit have an apple. Sorry that sounds patronising and I don't mean it to. Just make little changes gradually over time and it will be easier to stick to.

A - try walking on your own without the whinnying
B - yes kids will do that!
C - how is eating chocolate in bed going to help?

How old is d2? Find ways to make it more fun. A magnifying glass? Taking interesting pictures? Pretend you're looking for wolves, fairies or elves.

Get harsh with your decluttering. Get 2 bags - sell/charity or bin

Can you afford a long weekend away? If not, what about day trips? I think sometimes any change of scenery does a world of good.

Sadly D2 is 16 and fairies just don't work any more Xmas Grin

I shall plan de-cluttering and look in to skip hire.
