You are in no way being unreasonable. Bernard Cribbins is a genius and I have something in my eye.....

Is it the one where he's talking about his late wife? That one gets to me too. I thought the subject was handled really well for a kids show.

I cried too! I thought it was a particularly good episode.

Yes, the one where he talks about how much he misses his late wife at christmas.

Bing got me the other day (when the butterfly died & Ama buried it & explained that they should say goodbye & that they were grateful for having had it in the first place). We lost my Dad recently, and my Mum and I ended up in tears as DS (2.5) said "like Grandad".

My two year old hates it, and I agree with him in that all the other characters are insanely grinning stereotypes, but BC is an excellent actor, and the bits that are just him are curiously touching.

Oh gosh, I saw it last year and was a crying wreck, I'm pregnant this Christmas and as soon as I realised what episode it was I turned over, sharpish! I dread to think my reaction with all these hormones!! YADNBU.

YANBU...I was lucky enough to watch that episode with the cast and crew and everyone was in tears, even the director!
