Well I suppose it saves on packaging. If it's in a perfectly good box, it's a waste to put that into another plain brown box.

Yanbu. I has an expensive camera delivered before dd was born. The box had a picture of it and the price printed on the outside of the box

it kind of ruins things for the kids on xmas and birthday. they used to cover it with plastic bag type thing that was sealed. yeah im not sure its a great thing for people to know what your having delivered to your house :/

when i moaned about it the delivery guy said its to do with advertising. so people can see their products

I agree, DH's present was delivered her the other day in it's box, if it had come on his day off that would have been it!

I have hidden it at the IL's house but it's a big box so it is out on show, covered up with a sheet but that's not foolproof!

YANBU
Do you not have somewhere else you can have things delivered to? I've always had Christmas gifts sent to my Mums house to stop prying eyes.

YANBU. Years ago I ordered a tool box for now-ex. It arrived in a box with all the pictures on the outside, delivery guy said to now-ex "Happy Christmas, mate, hope it wasn't a surprise, haha"

I still wrapped it up as it was from DC and wanted to see their excitement on Christmas Day when he opened the present from them. Their little faces were ecstatic!

I had this once with lego head but delivery guy was fab, he knocked on my door first to explain and to make sure no little eyes where about so he could fetch it.

And another time I and a neighbour arranged to have the big presents delivered to each others houses so our DC's didn't get their surprise spoiled.

Her bikes arrived fine. Mine, arrived in a big box with pictures of the lights and noise multi-activity fire engine on the outside; (I don't remember the details too much but it definitely had a tank of water which you could spray through the hose to put out fires) her DC immediately decided that was the present they most wanted over anything in the whole world - and she ended up buying one too for her DCs to shut them up.

We didn't do that the next year. Oops. Blush
