every night we get home from work/school/nursery around 6pm.
I come in get dinner ready, respond to everyone's varying needs. ..juice, tv, fruit, dinner, games, pyjamas etc etc. ..while dp sits on couch and mucks around on his phone.

tonight after a tough day at work I have come home packed dd off to her dads and filled the bath with roasting bubbly water and took a soak with MN and a glass of wine.

dss 1,2&3 yet to be fed and I hear no stirrings of cooking downstairs

the back story here is that I complained to dp this morning of being treated like a housekeeper/cook. his response was to tell me its all in mind Hmm

in short im fed up and decided to leave them all to it

cheers everyone Wine

Enjoy!

MrsTerrorPratchett · 24/10/2014 18:08

YABU. MNing in the bath? I hope you've got a good, waterproof case on whatever you're using.

Other than that, YANBU.

Wine

PurpleWithRed · 24/10/2014 18:09

Well if it's all in your mind you can lie back and relax - someone will be up soon to ask if you need a top up on the wine yet, or fancy a little canapé or whole bag of crisps

Littlef00t · 24/10/2014 18:09

Did you inform DH you were on strike?

I think it's a bit pa not to say anything and just disappear but if you told him, enjoy. I hope you have chocolate.

WiseKneeHair · 24/10/2014 18:11

YADNBU
Enjoy your bath and Wine

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 18:14

im not on strike
I am just putting my needs first before anything else.

a little pa I suppose.

I did inform him I was going for a bath if that makes it any better?

I hear the noise of piercing cellophane downstairs. ..rumblings of something going in the oven.

im starting to prune here..how long do I stay. ..and this bath is way too hot

WobbilyFang · 24/10/2014 18:15

YANBU. Ask Dh what's for dinner.

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 18:15

prune as in look like a prune (wrinkly toes)

MrsTerrorPratchett · 24/10/2014 18:15

Put a little cold in and stay. Do you need to exfoliate? Condition hair? There will be something to do.

Patilla · 24/10/2014 18:17

I second a text message to your husband to ask what's for dinner and when you need to be down by.

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 18:18

dp has just come up to explain in great detail what the boys are having for tea.

lasagne and garlic bread.

he wants me to leave the water in for him...

Oh that was meant to be a glass of wine-sorry

DwellsUndertheSink · 24/10/2014 18:22

Use up all the hot water. Then empty the bath with an "oh, I forgot".

When you are done, go downstairs in your PJs, eat your dinner and then go and sit on the sofa with your phone/laptop. Pour another glass of wine.

Do not, under any circumstances, do washing up, bedtimes, stories, teeth etc.

Let the kids do whatever, do not engage.

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 18:25

we have unlimited hot water. so that wont wash (excuse the pun)

is it wrong of me to consider having a wee in the bath and letting him know. off putting strategy?

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 18:26

This thread makes me happy. Thanks Smile

wobblyweebles · 24/10/2014 18:58

Once you're out of the bath it'll take you ages to fully dry your hair and do your face mask. Then there will be your nails to finish off. And that book to finish...

Patilla · 24/10/2014 19:08

I'd have hunted out for my most flowery smelling bubble bath to deter the man! Or would he not mind?
At what point do you comment that there may be traces of hair removing cream in there?!

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 19:14

its sorted.

I have kindly suggested that ds3 have a bath. he looks a bit mucky tbh Smile

ds3 loves baths and this has now scuppered dps idea.

should I own up about the piss?

guilt is setting in. but I am on my second Wine

I may forget all about it
