AIBU?

Mum changing shitty nappy in ladies

I just went to the loo in a restaurant to find a mum had just changed her DC. The used nappy was on the floor with poo visible. She did get rid of the nappy (in the sanitary bin) but not the smell.

The smell made me retch and feel sick. AIBU to think she should have used the baby changing room next door?

Maybe someone was already using it?

I can understand it's not nice but surely adults poo in there as well so it's not much different. I'm just confused about where she put the baby, was it on the floor?

ouryve · 20/09/2014 13:05

You are complaining about the smell of poo in a toilet? Really?

Shlurpbop · 20/09/2014 13:05

YABU babies don't poo at appropriate times. It could have done a poo whilst she was in there using the toilet herself, or the baby changing room could have been in use.

Aridane · 20/09/2014 13:06

At least she didn't change the nappy on the restaurant table...

Hurr1cane · 20/09/2014 13:06

Yeah. It could have been occupied and she needed to change her baby. It's a toilet. People shit in toilets. If you don't want to smell other people's poo then don't use public toilets

Thurlow · 20/09/2014 13:06

Err... yes, YABU

SunshineDaisiesButterMellow · 20/09/2014 13:06

Seriously get a grip. It's poo. In a toilet.

YABU.

It's a toilet.

Doesn't tend to smell the nicest.

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKahleesi · 20/09/2014 13:07

Quite often the baby change station is in the disabled toilet, so those of us who are disabled have this every time we use the toilet!

LumpenproletariatAndProud · 20/09/2014 13:08

OMG YANBU! The smell of poo! In a toilet?!

Hmm

loudarts · 20/09/2014 13:08

Yabu, there are so many threads where people complain about baby's being changed in public and they should be changed in the toilets so you can't complain when one does get changed in the toilets!!

RabidFairy · 20/09/2014 13:08

Grow up OP

SlicedAndDiced · 20/09/2014 13:09

The stink I leave in toilets has always been far far worse than any I've smelt from mine or others babies.

Bit precious op. Toilets are designed for people to do smelly stuff in, didn't you know?

duchesse · 20/09/2014 13:09

Erm, right. Hmm Where else would you have wanted her to change it? And of course adults' faeces (which are also disposed of there) do not smell at all?

Hakluyt · 20/09/2014 13:09

The smell of poo in a toilet made you retch and feel sick?

Are you the amazing rose scented poo woman?

DrankSangriaInThePark · 20/09/2014 13:10

Where do you put your own poo then? Do you pop it in your handbag or something?

Showy · 20/09/2014 13:10

I walked into a public loo yesterday to the same sight. Tiny baby, poo up the back and down the legs, screaming and thrashing. I judged... The people tutting and sighing while the poor woman turned crimson.

I offered to help.

I had to change my baby dd in a toilet on the floor (thankfully I had a fold up mat) because the baby change was locked and I hated it, but no choice because she has really sensitive skin.

NobodyLivesHere · 20/09/2014 13:13

Yanbu. She should take her shut covered bang home away from delicate noses.

Or something. Confused

wigglesrock · 20/09/2014 13:15

Do you shite icecream yourself? The baby changing facilities I've used in the past have also doubled as accessible toilets or baby feeding rooms so sometimes they can be hard to get into or there's a queue. Where else would you like her to change the nappy, she did put the nappy in the ban, I'm assuming you saw the poo ( oh the horror) because she had finished cleaning or was securing the baby in a pram, sling before finishing up.

A smell of poo? In the toilets?

What is the world coming to?

Hmm

Flipflops7 · 20/09/2014 13:16

At least it wasn't a train seat Grin

gamerchick · 20/09/2014 13:17

Changing in the toilet is fine but putting it in the S bin was out of order. Now the staff will have to ring up the company to come and remove it and that takes time and in the meantime there's a stinking bin sitting.

But aside from that, give your head a wobble.
