AIBU?

To be annoyed that DH is refusing to take my cake into work

..... Because it's too childlike

It's a practice run for my son bday party. Ok so it's not great, a bit soggy but really it's sodding chocolate cake -surely it can't be that embarrassing to take into work.

AIBU to be offended

Seem to have spent all weekend arguing with DH

um, I'm sure your cake is lovely but I wouldn't take cake into work either. It's not appropriate in all workplaces.

If it's slightly dodgy looking cake it'll be embarrassing for him when no one eats it. (Sorry)

My DH wouldn't do it and tbh neither would I (sorry)

Well I can see his side, wouldn't want to take it to my office. But I would be impressed if someone else brought it in, so that makes no sense Grin

Do men take cakes into work??

I had men take in cookies and other desserts into our office. :)

It's not the kind of thing I'd waste much sleep over, to be honest. Sorry, not terribly supportive. Is his refusal to take in the cake just a part of some bigger problem?

In our office EVERYTHING home made disappears within minutes! Grin
He is being VVVU!

If it's in the shape of Bob the Builder I don't blame him. Chocolate cake though, he's crazy.

Do men take cakes into work??

Several of the men I work with bake, so yes to that!

My ex husband refused to do this

My current husband begs me to - his staff love him for it even if they're silly looking

Moral of the story - marry someone prepared to let people know who you are as a family

Sorry this made me laugh.

Do you often try to make him take your cooking into work?

Give it away to someone who wants it, eat it yourselves or throw it away.

Making my DP take chocolate cake into his work place (especially if it wasn't up to scratch) would never enter my mind and seems bizarre to me

Can't you cut it into pieces before he takes it in? Surely it would look like any other cake then.

Good lord, you've spent all weekend arguing about this?

I wouldn't take it in either.

Do you have a neighbour who might appreciate it?

windchime · 14/09/2014 19:17

MY DP would never ever take anything in to work, apart from himself and his laptop. Too cool for school, that one Smile

How is it 'soggy'?

ltb.
Cut up the cake and freeze it in servings for sneaky impromptu coffee and cake moments.
