For my birthday I made a cake to bring into work, a fresh lemon drizzle cake (contains 4 lemons) and no addatives or nastys.

Anyway one guy at work said his body is a temple and he doesn't eat junk food.

I wanted to slap him, homemade stuff isn't the same as junk food!

Its a lovely thing to do, but I would consider cake junk food too to be honest. Like crisps or chocolate or ice cream. I eat it though

I love lemon drizzle cake, but would count it as junk food. Unless you made it with wholemeal flour, enriched it with seeds and the only sweetness came from a small quantity of fruit. If that were the case, I wouldn't eat it because it would be foul.

It's not "junk food" in my world. It is unhealthy, with way too much refined carbohydrate but not "junk".
To me "junk food" is food made in a factory with preservatives and very little resemblance to any raw ingredients.

Home made cake isn't junk food. It's not healthy food, but junk food to me is processed, prepackaged stuff like crisps and chocolate or fast food like McDonald's.

YANBU. It's incredibly rude that he called it junk. To me junk is like you say - fast, unhealthy food with additives etc. He could have said "no thanks I'm on a diet" or "I better not, I'm trying to eat healthily"...

Anyway, an occasional piece of cake has its place even in a healthy diet - it's just the smallest segment of the food pyramid they teach you at school...!

Also, I worked with someone like this once..

He always wheeled his office chair over to my desk to scrutinise and criticise my lunch. Made comments about how I'll put on weight if I eat crisps, sandwiches, biscuits etc. Even things like jacket potato he'd moan about as he lived on quinoa salads... I was 8st at the time, size 10... I suppose he thought that made it okay to comment, I can't imagine he'd say the same to a larger woman. It still hurt my feelings though, I get a noticeable pot belly after large meals and once he even poked and grabbed my belly and said something like "look at that belly!".

Sorry, a bit off topic but this really reminded me of him!
