Was at a cafe today and a lady pulls out a potty and allows her son shit. Just there openly not trying to hide it. The cafe was packed full of people eating too confused

Her friend then pulled out potty
and was going to get her
daughter on but we complaied before it happened.

The toilets were out of order however there were loos about 10 second walk outside

They both thought we were UR for suggesting they use the other toilets and we don't know how hard it is potty training twins ( we have twins in our immediate family).

One of them started crying and the shouted at us then left.

AIBU to think this disgusting and not something people want to see when trying to eat our lunch?!

DemelzaandRoss Tue 19-Aug-14 23:22:28

Absolutely revolting.

SallyMcgally Tue 19-Aug-14 23:23:15

YANBU. Disgusting.

thornrose Tue 19-Aug-14 23:23:56

It's almost impossible to believe this could happen!

LittlePeaPod Tue 19-Aug-14 23:24:32

Are you shitting me? no pun intended Surely you are? There is someone out there that actually thinks this is acceptable behaviour?

What has potty training twins got to do with it ? There were 2 parents there so one per child confused Not that it would be ok to do if there wasn't grin
How very odd.

I love it when people "calmly suggest something" and then the other person just flies off the handle for no reason. I have a sneaking suspicion you didn't "suggest" if it escalated to tears and shouting.

Regardless. You don't poop in front of people that are eating. That's gross.

BeyoncesCat Tue 19-Aug-14 23:30:39

I shit you not! grin I promise you all this happened. I'm not poo troll. We couldn't stop talking about it after as we too couldn't believe they thought it acceptable!

Purplepoodle Tue 19-Aug-14 23:32:01

Omg even if the toilet was out of order surely they could have used the potty in there. I would have even took the kids outside and used potty before doing in a cafe like that (I have 3 under 5 btw)

BeyoncesCat Tue 19-Aug-14 23:32:47

Hand on heart, it was a calm suggestion. The way try reacted was like they've had stick about doing it before.

Stranger things have happened at sea, dp once got shouted at at a woman on the tube for not giving up his seat for her dog.

BeyoncesCat Tue 19-Aug-14 23:34:18

That's what we said Purple!
3 under 5 wow!! shock

Purplepoodle Tue 19-Aug-14 23:35:15

Lots of potties in my life - 2 trained one to go lol.

AlpacaYourThings Tue 19-Aug-14 23:35:21

YANBU.

That is utterly revolting.

Purplepoodle Tue 19-Aug-14 23:36:05

What did they do with the potty full of waste?

FannyFifer Tue 19-Aug-14 23:37:13

No way, no one lets their kid shit in a cafe do they.

scousadelic Tue 19-Aug-14 23:38:23

People are sometimes odd in how they don't see problems when the child belongs to them. We were at a friends house eating lunch when someone suggested changing a baby's pooey nappy on the floor right next to the table and was a bit hmm when others of us objected. It's easy to not see the disgusting in your own child

I passed a bloke parking his ds on a potty on the pavement next to their vehicle the other day. Vehicle was a motorhome.

Thought that was slightly unnecessary but it didn't inconvenience anyone, so each to their own...potty in middle of cafe is entirely different & entirely gross. YANBU.

AlpacaYourThings Tue 19-Aug-14 23:43:26

Someone will be along soon who will think for some ridiculous reason that YABU, OP.

grin well yes, you should have offered to help out op. How selfish of you.
