The stone gravel from my flower beds that are part of my drive that their children were throwing around were covered in chickken shit and round up.
The DC are small under 3 and the 2 Mums just stood chating on my drive angry They did not know I was at home because my car was in the parking bay as I was killing weeds on the drive with vinegar not round up
They were cross that I might have harmed their DC and that the prickles on the rose bush hurt a DC when he tried to pick it, Why do they think I planted the rose bush hmm -- Yes I am evil-- angry angry angry angry

kinkyfuckery Wed 06-Aug-14 18:31:06

You might have harmed their DC because they were throwing around gravel on your property?? Seriously?

CeliaBowen Wed 06-Aug-14 18:31:29

YANBU, they are trespassing.

You are also not evil. Plant whatever you like in your own garden!

CoffeeTea103 Wed 06-Aug-14 18:32:21

Yanbu, if they weren't in your garden then they wouldn't get pricked. Point that out to the mother.

canyou Wed 06-Aug-14 18:34:08

There is no such thing as 'trespass' in English legislation. There is in Scots but not English. it is common law.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trespass_in_English_law#Trespass_to_land

canyou Wed 06-Aug-14 18:40:18

Tks Cereal, berberis is described as a weed so I bet I could grow thatgrin
I have order some carpet roses as well as some tall ones grin

Patrickstarisabadbellend Wed 06-Aug-14 18:40:23

You need some swearing gnomes, barbed wire and possibly a sniper on the roof.

The cheeky bastards!

canyou Wed 06-Aug-14 18:42:00

Frank I am in Irl but I bet the gardai would not evict small DC for tresspass their had cuffs are too big and they don't carry car seats for transportation grin sad grin

canyou Wed 06-Aug-14 18:44:45

Patrick DP is a snipervand medic in the army, he hates confrontation hmm confused hmm he also hate the DC coming in throwing stones so I might convince him to go up onto the roof with a water gun -- or he can order a private to do it--
Ok I am off to google gmnomes smile

It's just common decency not to stand on your neighbours property, regardless whether they're home or not. Wrecking your garden by kicking your gravel is really rude. I'm surprised they didn't apologise. Are they usually so ill mannered?

SteeleyeSpanx Wed 06-Aug-14 19:05:32

You are talking nonsense, of course there is the tort of trespass, both to land and to the person.

Unfortunately, OP does have a duty of care to trespassers under the Occupiers Liabilities Act(s), so better be careful that the little horrors haven't suffered any actual harm.

HappySeaTurtles Wed 06-Aug-14 19:05:54

Get some chocolate covered coffee beans. Every time they come over, give them some. Give them some free chicks or cute baby animals. Enough times of having to pry candy, and baby animals out of her children's hands, she'll make sure they stay away from you.

Make her the bad guy, not you. grin

canyou Wed 06-Aug-14 19:14:37

Zen, kicking stones oh no if only, they use pedal tractor and diggerhmm I guess that is the attraction of the stones, TBH I only know them to say hello, My DC are not their age group
Steely I promise not to harm the DC --the garden is kept safe for my DC.
Happy, baby fluffy chicks would do the job, I might get some and then pass them onto my DSis when they are not so cute and fluffy and the Mums hand them back grin

WitchWay Wed 06-Aug-14 19:20:53

The mums let their children dig up your gravel with tractors & diggers??? angry

ChickenMe Wed 06-Aug-14 19:36:18

Lol at the mum getting upset about a rose bush.

Next stop - Venus fly trap. Triffid. Sundew. You need an arsenal of inappropriate carnivorous angry plants.

WitchWay Wed 06-Aug-14 19:49:17

Have you a fence in the front where you could plant a climbing rose? No? an obelisk perhaps?

American Pillar is beautiful and has lots of really huge fuck off thorns

You could get one of those motion activated water sprayers for 'animals' on your property...

canyou Wed 06-Aug-14 20:10:47

Witch, no fence but could I grow them along bamboo and string--I just pulled all my peas/beans so have both---
MrsT no water motion we r getting water meters in Irl I am on water conservation and have 3 butts to water the garden but cannot waste it on DC wink

Patrickstarisabadbellend Wed 06-Aug-14 20:13:32

Trim your rose bush and accidentally chop all the kids hair off.

WitchWay Wed 06-Aug-14 20:59:23

Bamboo & string prob not strong enough sad

You can get hedging roses with big thorns

Staywithme Wed 06-Aug-14 22:20:31

Put some cat poo down. Guarantee when they dig that up their dms will stop them playing there. I have six cats and could post some down to you. grin Is there any duty in cat poo?
