AIBU?

To think DH is deliberately trying to wind me up?

Ok so DH and I have separate towels. I keep his on the towel rack and mine behind the door on the radiator.

I have told him numerous times that this is the towel status quo.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've gone to have a shower to find that he's used MY towel. I know when he has as he's a lazy beggar who leaves it on the floor soaking wet.

I have asked him to please stop using my towel. This didn't work, so I took to taking my towel out of the bathroom and leaving it somewhere else.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I forget to do this and leave it in the bathroom he uses it!!! Angry

It's not like it's easier to get to; he has to reach past the laundy basket and behind the door to get to it!

AIBU to kill him now think he's doing it purposely to wind me up?

I think it's a sign that you should buy more towels, and be a bit less anal about ownership of them Grin

YaNbu. No towel and wet towel :(

We do have more than one towel each! Grin

I just don't appreciate having to get a clean one every time he uses mine as I'm the one who does all the bloody laundry. Angry

Have you asked him why he uses it when you've asked him not to?

Yanbu. Get different colours for each of you.

Yes, he says "oh sorry, didn't realise" every single time.

Can I kill him?

Ah. Therein lies the rub. Get him to do the laundry. If he uses your towel and leaves it on the floor get him to do a load of washing.
Either that or lace the towel with itching powder. He won't dry his testicles with that twice Grin

Could you get the most over the top pink frilly majobby to try and deter him?

I tried the colour thing, it didn't work. Although they were only varying shades of beige... perhaps I should try more fluorescent colours.

But then I'm not sure I could even bring myself to use a hideous, frilly towel. shudder

Just swap the towels over. You use the one on the towel rack. Life is too short to get in a state over towels.

But but but... pudcat... he does that thing, you know, where he dries his bum by flossing it with the towel! Envy

Buy him a laundry basket. Place used towels he used in it. Do not do his laundry.

Make sure you have a good stash of towels.

My OP does his laundry, me mine, and the children's as I am a stay at home parent. He irons his shirts and ensures he has clean jocks and socks.

That's how it was before we had children, that's how it is after.

Works well!

Maybe hold-fire on actually killing him, grossfoot, I mean think of the mess you would have to clean up using HIS towel, but YADNBU to feel that he is winding you up.

I think it shows he doesnt care enough about what is important to you, because if he did, he would take the trouble to use his towel and register the fact that wiping his hands etc on your towel is just a no-no, end-of...

Maybe buy 2 new contrasting coloured towels which are immediately recognisable as being your's, announce it to him get him to agree to not using them then see what he does.

I have to say, I love my DP and DSS to bits but no way in a month of Sundays would I use their towels.

I just like to know where my towel has been and taught DSS to use his towel only, just good basic hygiene, not about being "precious", its just the right order of things IMO.

and I do see the odd brown stain from time to time Men somehow manage to miss their nether regions God knows how!

Can you pretend to use his toothbrush and leave it on top of the loo cistern?

Or something similar that might make your point... constantly wear his favourite jumper/shirt and leave it crumpled in the floor, eat half of every biscuit in the pack... you know, childish things.

Me? I'd have a sit down chat about it and tell him how much extra work he is causing you, how much you really don't want to share the towels, regardless of his thoughts on the matter, and that if he continues to do so he will be showing you how little he thinks of your feelings. Yeah! Sometimes emotional blackmail gets the message across!

Switch your towel spots then the one he's taking will actually be his.

I just dry my feet on a small towel, wrap another small towel round my head the rest of me is dried by one of my long towelling bath robes - which DH tends not to use. DH tends to use the bath sheet size towels.

Ahaha, my DP would do exactly the same.

I think the problem is that women think about each action before they do it (enables multi-tasking - e.g. 'what should I do while I'm doing/finishing this'?) whereas men are just in a world of their own. Probably thinking about higher-plane things like how to defeat space robots instead of which towel is theirs.

I keep mine hidden in a cupboard well away from the bathroom and carry one in each time.

Ah! Happy - I just noticed. OPs towel is over the radiator.... may be why she hasn't swapped places yet. May also be why her DH reaches for hers... warm snuggly towel...
