Over 100,000 people descend on London to protest against Israel slaughtering the people of Gaza. Where are the reports on the bbc, sky etc?? I'm appalled, not only at the horrendous mass murder of the Palestinian people, but the obviously corrupt and biased pro Israeli mediaAngry Angry

YANBU it is becoming increasingly clear that the MSM report for their own/their masters ends and are not the unbiased source of information we wish they were

Some might say that, but those some would show themselves up as loony antisemites Hmm

Have you looked at the footage? In Glasgow pretty much the whole of Buchanan St was filled - that's thousands. The BBC reported it as 100s with a closely cropped picture so you couldn't see the numbers.

To be honest, calling people antisemitic because they question the actions of Israel is both offensive, and a really poor argument.

A quick google found the above site, there have been Jews at all of the protests, and a quick google will show you that many Jews do not agree with the actions of Israel. Of course they must be antisemites in disguise....

Last Tango Do you have any knowledge of the situation at all? Anyone with half a brain cell, even taking account of the ridiculous media bias, should realise that 2 people dead on one side v over 300 on the other means there's serious imbalance in this conflict.

The BBC's news reporting is shabby. When 200,000 people marched in London to protest against the privatisation of the NHS they didn't cover it. How they decided it wasn't news is beyond me. The current failure to report is more of the same.

Yanbu. It is completely unacceptable and down right unfair.

it's always the same so i expect nothing different. whilst i am not pro israel (good and bad to both sides) there is definately a left media bias. i know for a fact that there are regular bombings going on that are never get mentioned in the media over here.

I was referring to the old chestnut of World Jewry controlling the media and that being the reason for anti Israeli protests not being covered.

As you correctly said, many Jewish people will be on the marches. Jewish does not equal Israeli (and many Israelis are also against the action in Gaza).
It's lazy and offensive to say that these events are under reported because Jewish media barons are pulling strings.

sleepy i agree with you. jew haters always come out of the woodwork when israel comes into the fold. i know of a fair few jews who don't side with israel. i think that there is shite both sides

Could everyone please remember that 'Israel' and 'the Jews' are 2 separate entities?

Many Jews don't support Israel's actions.

Only an anti-Semite would see 'the media being Jewish-owned' as a conspiracy theory. In fact sadly most conspiracy theories on the internet at present are anti-Semitic and I am sick of it!

There are more Jewish people living outside Israel than actually in Israel and many of them have nothing to do with Israel.

That aside, the BBC and other media don't show many marches to their full extent unless there's violence involved.

Was listening to a programme on radio 4 yesterday about this. They focussed on complaints saying the BBC was showing a Israeli bias, then focussed on complaints about a Palestinian bias. I think views on this are formed by which side you might have more sympathy for.

In fact, many Israelis don't support their governments' actions either.

DH has family in Israel (who are Jewish). They are all disgusted and would move if they could. Their grandparents and parents came over to escape anti-semitism and to make a better world and a better life...it got them all nowhere....they have all protested before against the strikes. Israel's response is disproportionate.

YANBU.

Although I think it's also esperately unfair to label this as due to concerns of anti-semitism.

It's been overshadowed by the plane crash but it's desperately sad that the Palestinians are being put into what they call concentration camps. They have their land taken, their borders closed or restricted, walls build they cannot cross, the citizens and children killed on a scale massively higher than the Israeli one.

The Americans have done a great disservice to Israel by promoting a siege mentality and arming them with the highest spec weapons. They are trying far too late to encourage what should have been done decades again. Stop the land grab and allow Palestine to become an independent state, and work with them for the good of the region.

Israel has painted itself into a corner and promoted so much ill feeling in the Middle East.

It is so like the Irish troubles where the Protestants in power disenfranchised the catholic majority with poor housing and no jobs, thus fermenting resentment and the rise of the IRA. The Palestinians now have Hamas who are doing the same as the IRA. The situation is worsening and it will take a miracle to resolve.

I have friends in Israel and the one thing we don't discuss is politics!

I have no bias against Jewish people. It is utter stupidity to assume that all people of a certain race/gender/religion have the same thoughts/opinions and behaviours. I know there are thousands of Jewish people who will be appalled at what is currently happening in Gaza. Accusations of antisemitism are unhelpful and just try to distract from the real issues. There is no justification for what is currently happening to the Palestinian people. It is sickening Sad Sad

I am sure a majority of Israelis just want peace but a hard core of militants want to continue to oppress the Palestinians, perhaps because they feel they need to be offensive to defend their right to exist. The leaders are very hard line and won't budge an inch.

The assassination of both leaders, Begin and Sadat, following their peace deal was the last chance saloon for peace in Israel and Palestine. Very sad.

The lack of media coverage is appalling, if it weren't the internet, we would be totally in wilderness as far as news is concerned. And it certainly seems like most of the world media is controlled by Zionists, including the BBC, which is outrageous as it is paid for by the British taxpayer.

I'm glad to say that, at least on the internet, most jews are visibly distancing themselves from this genocide.
