To Ask You About Pants / Knickers / Under Garments

Please help. I cannot find comfy pants. All pants show a massive pant line through my trousers / dress. And they get all bunched up. I don't like having my knickers in a twist.

I like shorts so they really cover my rump, but can't seem to find anything that fits properly.

Where are the comfy pants kept?

Who's hiding them?

And how can I get a pair, or ten?

I buy mine at sainsburys. I used to like m and s but they've changed them now and they're not so good. And I always size up for plenty of coverage!

I also bought some from Sainsburys - they're fab. They're a silky material that properly cover your arse but are totally seamless so no VPL.

M&S do similar.

Buy a size up for starters. That helps minimise the VPL.

I like the seam free ones. I got mine from Morrisons. They are my favourite ones. No tight digging in round the legs. No VPL. Quite prettyish well better than the stretchy short type Very comfortable.

Can't find a link to the Sainsburys ones but if you like shorts style, here's a link

My most comfy pants I have ever had we're bought from bon marche.

Report
OnlyLovers · 11/07/2014 12:59

I've never seen these in RL, but I have heard talk of knickers/shorts that come down your leg. Presumably that would solve the VPL and bunching-up issues.

I'm sorry, I can't dwell on this too much as the person who told me about them was my then boss's boss, as we bumped into one another and had to stand making awkward morning conversation while waiting for the tube. I couldn't look her in the eye for some time and am still a bit traumatised by it. Grin

Primark do a lovely pair of black ones for £1.70 they've a thick lace look waistband and comfy cotton bottom half. Fit well, don't ride up and wash well.

matalan do good shorts however the elastic goes quite fast if you tumble them so you go through a fair few packets x

Go up a size. Try French knickers/similar - they don't have a seam across your bottom.

Bizarrely, I find these comfortable! Otherwise, the M&S midis a size up.

Thanks for the suggestions. Going to have to try a few more styles I think. Just remembered sloggi's - I wonder if they still any good.

Dunno - must just be a happy coincidence of the cut of the knickers and the shape of my bum. Usually I find shorts, thongs etc insufferable.

Someone once posted on MN a link to an Australian co that did sensible ladies knickers in jazzy colours and with dinosaurs/camouflage on. I have never been able to find them since, though. Sad

Unpopular opinion, I'm sure, but I only wear thongs. I honestly do think they are the comfiest pants on the planet.

Report
SinglePringle · 11/07/2014 13:47

Honestly - thongs or high cut Brazillians.

I find I can feel any other style and they show through clothes.

I wear nothing but these 2 styles.

Really, really comfortable and are the only ones I buy.

Did you listen to Sara Cox on Radio 2? Slept in her H's boxers last night. Lots of people rang into the show this morning to say they often wear their OH's underwear for a) comfort and b) lack of VPL.
