AIBU?

To think this is actually massively disrespectful?

I had some thank you cards for gifts sent to dd when I had her (2 months ago Blush They were on the kitchen table.

I came in this afternoon and DH had obviously been on the phone to somebody - scrawled over every single card were phone numbers and notes like 'Anne - Santander - 765432'

He is convinced he's not 'really' done anything wrong.

He's a bit if an idiot isnt he? Could he not have checke what he was scrawling on?

Its not disrespectful though. Thats an odd thing to think.

It is naughty, but a little bit funny too.

bit thoughtless but I think "massively disrespectful" is a bit OTT. Send him out to buy some more, that's all.

The cards haven't been there for two months, I meant dd is two months old. I wrote the cards and they had stamps and names and addresses on them ready to be posted, which is why I think it's disrespectful as his writing is on the front of the cards, he must have seen that it was a card and not a random bit of paper?

I'm a doodler. Nothings safe once I'm in the zone

Just have him write more, no big drama

were these cards you had written but not posted, or waiting to be written, or blank postcards you were going to personalise etc?
I cant see how they could get mistaken for a pile of scrap paper?

A big allowance as you're likely to be incredibly sleep deprived and irrational but as he is probably in the same boat, I really doubt it was malicious.

Sorry buy yabu

Read the fucking thread, people.

These were the thank you cards that op had JUST written.

He's an oaf, I'd be furious.

Methe see above Hmm

The cards were written this morning. I took dd out and returned to find them scrawled all over. My daughter is two months old - my Blush just meant I should have written them earlier really.

He wrote on the written and stamped thank you cards, not the 'special items'.

He's done something idiotic and needs to make good what he's done.

phantomnamechanger · 17/06/2014 21:24

xposted - he is a prize berk then, if they were stamped and addressed and clearly waiting to be posted! what's his excuse??

I had a wedding invite with dp casually tore a strip off and picked his teeth with. Angry

Assholes.

Of an adult who has the ability to check what he's doodling on? Hmm

Phantom I don't either. They were written out with addresses on them and stamps.

If it had been a mistake I'd be a bit cross but see the funny side but I genuinely think it wasn't. I think he knew he was writing in my cards and didn't care, that's why I think it's disrespectful to the time I spent writing them out.

You did so well to write them so quickly! Took us ages. Not very good of DH. Ask him to re write envelopes. Doesn't matter if he think he is in the wrong or not. Just ask him to rewrite them for you.

I too didn't read properly but I'm really fucking tired

If DH did this he'd be very sorry. He wouldn't try to say he hasn't done anything wrong.

Deep breaths OP. With a 2 month old you have more than enough on your plate.

(it was a twatish thing to do, but wasn't on purpose)

I don't know if I'd say it was massively disrespectful, but it was definitely a dick move, and I would have been pretty pissed off with him. YANBU.

He is an idiot and should get, write and stamp new envelopes for the cards.

You are a sleep deprived new mother who is probably over reacting.
