Just that blush

SarahAndFuck Tue 27-May-14 14:40:46

That is a lovelier looking story london but the damage is already done and I can't help feeling that Linda is going to meet a sticky end in that pond at the hands of that gnome.

AntinousWild Tue 27-May-14 14:12:02

Ds cuddles them and pleads. No. Just no.

gargolia Tue 27-May-14 14:10:15

ProudAS Tue 27-May-14 08:18:12

SarahAndFuck Mon 26-May-14 23:51:26

Oh dear god, I've just seen the tankini gnome advert. <shudders>

Hecate were you also traumatised? And possibly, are you my cousin? Because we were terrified together over that story as girls and she says she's never looked at gnomes the same way again either.

HecatePropylaea Mon 26-May-14 23:38:36

I remember that story! I dont know where it is from either, but I know I have read it.

YABVU.
The mankini one is just vile! Gnomes and mankinis are two things that should just not exist, together or not!
And now thanks to Sarah, I'm freaking out about gnomes! Wonderful! I have a very active imagination but luckily, no one I know owns gnomes!

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Mon 26-May-14 22:42:34

I bought a gnome from Asda a few years ago because he looks exactly like my lovely next door neighbour. He's not very visible amongst the aquilegia, polygonum and the last of the cow parsley, but I like to know he's there.

My garden is vair, vair tasteful - gnome or no gnome.

SarahAndFuck Mon 26-May-14 22:36:28

What fresh ASDA Hell is this?!

Gnomes are evil.

I mean it, I'm scarred for life because of a garden gnome story in Mandy or Judy or Bunty or whatever girls comic it was I ended up reading as a child.

Family move into new house, elderly owner has disappeared but there's a sweet little gnome in the garden. Family admire and then completely forget it but the moment their backs are turned that gnome gets glowing red eyes and an evil smile and you just know that family are living on borrowed time.

Next thing you know, new young couple are moving into the same house and admiring the sweet little stone family group they find in the garden and make a comment about how much nicer it is that a rotten old gnome and how odd it is that the family who lived in the house 'just disappeared'.

They turn their backs on the stone family and all four pairs of eyes start to glow red and their smiles are all evil and that new couple are as good as dead.

Scarred. For. Life.

Ikea have the right idea. They're a Swedish company. They understand gnomes and they made a very educating video on how to kill the little buggers. Trust Ikea on this and buy a high pressure hose and a bloody big hammer for your own protection.

I want these

LithaR Mon 26-May-14 20:07:51

Well £25 is a bit dear sad

Although Asda tend to have a good sale box.

KurriKurri Mon 26-May-14 16:00:06

Ooh goody, Gnome porn. grin

Sadly, I have them all.... This is just one of them, but there is Lady Gnome and Toddler Too, who joined him later

Alpacacino Mon 26-May-14 14:40:39

YABU. Entirely.

MrsWombat Mon 26-May-14 14:26:48

Yes I am very tempted by them myself. Not one in a mankini though!

ICanSeeTheSun Mon 26-May-14 14:22:00

Is your garden, your choice.

I don't like gnomes, but the zombie ones look cool but I don't think DC will be ok with them.

I may buy one and swap it will one of my mums.

TruJay Mon 26-May-14 14:17:33

Haha my DS (4) loves the giant Asda gnomes. He loves the film Gnomeo & Juliet and says that's why he needs Gnomeo in his garden. I would consider getting one if they were cheaper

IAmTheGodOfTitsAndWine Mon 26-May-14 14:04:25

I now need a zombie gnome.

HecatePropylaea Mon 26-May-14 12:55:27

If I was going to have gnomes, I think I'd have something like this

Nomama Mon 26-May-14 12:17:43

You can buy them?

Oh fuck!

That the advert exists is bad enough!

remembers to avoid Asda for the foreseeable future

IAmTheGodOfTitsAndWine Mon 26-May-14 11:46:37

Yes, £25. That is why I don't have one.

ASDA need to do a line of Smartprice giant gnomes. £10 a gnome and I'd get one, even if I had to supply my own fishing rod and jaunty hat.
