AIBU?

To have said 'In a rush to wash that greasy hair eyy?'

Was in sainsburys today walking in between the barriers to get to the self-checkouts and tripped up on something someone had abandoned under where all the chocolate and sweets are. Then this woman walked past me and said 'excuse me hurry up this is an express lane don't you know' and I just blurted it out it was greasy though

Now fair enough that your in a rush but the space I between the bloody things could fit a rhino and the security guard told me she wasn't even actually behind me, she was to the right so it's not as if she actually had to stop!

AIBU?

Yes, you were - but understandably so, as so was she.

She was rude. You were also rude, but in a far more personal manner.

She did say excuse me... even though it was to lessen the rudeness. You were mean and unnecessarily cruel though.

There's no need to resort to personal attacks. It's mean, rude and unnecessary.

OP - yes it was an unkind thing to say.....

Well she was a bit rude but you were far ruder in my opinion - why the need to stoop to personal insults?

Are you telling this story in the expectation that everyone will think it's funny?

Report
meditrina · 12/05/2014 06:31

Her words were, it seems, unnecessary and PA. But not actually rude. And she may not have seen you trip - for if there was plenty of space, then you had presumably righted yourself by then.

Yours however were just plain insulting.

I hope this is a reverse.

I am embarrassed and mortified on your behalf op. That you said such a horrible thing. And that you think it's funny to repeat it here.

That's just horrible. YABVVU

Yabvvvvu!!

She was a little curt however you were unbelievably rude!! You need to thank your lucky stars she didn't slap you!

Very very rude. Also unkind and very un-sisterly. I get the impression from your misguidedly jovial tone in the op that you think we will all find this hilarious and it will end up in classics Hmm.

If this really happened then you are nasty

MammaTJ · 12/05/2014 06:52

Had I ever been that nasty I would not be boasting about it on the internet, I would be ashamed!

What a daft thing to come out with, makes you sound about 14.

she sounds a bit abrupt, you sound intentionally nasty.

I'm embarrassed for you and feel a bit sorry for you that you seemingly thought you were so smart and funny that you'd put your behaviour up for validation on an Internet forum.

How is "eyy" pronounced? Like "eh"?

Report

You were shockingly rude and should be ashamed of yourself.

Report
TheHouseatWhoCorner · 12/05/2014 08:09

Do you feel better that you've possibly caused someone to feel embarrassed and self conscious for possibly the rest of the day until she can get home to wash her hair?
Yes, she was rude. You were very unkind.
