Staying in a favourite hotel. Rooms have all been refurbed and new smart TVs.

I turn on the TV and first thing I see is Adult viewing option, taking up 25% of the screen next to guest services, I can flick across to normal TV menu, music and radio etc.

The screenshot for the adult TV is a women lying on her back clutching her boobs legs open, I click on it bemused, opens up various more explicit options of women bent over with a bloke who's face you can't see about to do the business, women mouth open about to suck a blokes penis, again you can't see his face, these are the 'straight options', along with 'gay and lesbian' options, other various ones of women doing various 'sexy' poses. Funnily enough no hunky men for me to look at ( proof porn is sexist and degrading?).

But really, this is a nice hotel, a child staying could have so easily turned the TV on and unwittingly clicked on this, it was the first thing that appeared when switching on the TV.

I'm not clutching my pearls and I'm not a prude, I thought porn was cool and open minded in my early 20s but I've changed my mind. I accept it legal and widely accepted here but aibu to want it to be a bit more discreet?

Is there not a pin for it? They should have a pin Shock agree its not ideal if it's that easy for kids to access.

I like how recently there have been more and more hot men in porn, this is to the disgust of some men who think it detracts from the women makes them insecure HmmHmm but obviously some places are slow to catch up!

I would put it in the feedback.

Perhaps the rooms that children are staying in, have the controls on.

This is easy enough to do along with the cleaning.

When you book in the UK, you are always asked "how many under 16's in beds".

I think that considering you can get married at 16, then that's appropriate.

I've got no problem with it being available but I agree that it should not be there on the front page.

I wonder if they need to promote it because the lonely business man is one bringing his own grumble on his laptop.

YANBU.

The television should be set to a 'neutral' page, not porn as its 'welcome page'. And porn options should be removed entirely (can be reactivated on request) in all rooms used by guests travelling with children.

Presumably it's a nice money spinner for the hotel, so they will want to keep it on for economic reasons. They are unlikely to have thought about the ethics.

There are of course plenty of hotels which do not have porn channels at all, or which have them pretty much hidden, so that only those who actively want to watch are going to see it.

You have to pay to view the films, they've got a special offer for it in the guest services bit but the images are explicit enough.

It's possible they'd take it off if children were staying but it looks like their bog standard home page tbh.

I'm trying not to moan as I'm here for a celebration I was a bit miffed last night as the footstool was all stained and to me it smelt like vomit but dbf didn't want to faff changing rooms so we just moved it.

I will send feedback though to the hotel.

David Cameron stays here I wonder what he makes of the adult option!

I had this in a hotel. I was with my 12 year old son and flicked on the TV to see very, very explicit sex. Fortunately, it was very close up and I'm not sure my son realised what it was. Confused. (The HD big screen didnt help)

I went to the busy reception and loudly and calmly asked why there was porn on my TV. I actually described the type of porn quite clearly and I said my son had seen it. Confused. I kept repeating the type of sex I had seen. I wasn't going to make it pleasant for them.

They were mortified. They had made a mistake and were very apologetic but still ...

I was definitely clutching my pearls.
