I haven't seen any of his comedy but I love Archie from balamory Blush and I loved it when he did Firestarter in let's dance for comic relief. I actually think I love him!

I think there is some of his stand-up on You Tube. Very funny. There is a MNer somewhere with a secret crush...

I was at school with Miles. He was a lovely, very witty guy.

In and Out of the Kitchen

On radio 4, bloody hilarious.

I love him too he's so funny, I love the line he used about people always thinking he is gay because he sounds 'posh' - as if he learned to enunciate properly with a mouthful of other gentlemen :D

He's fab, I would love to see him on QI, don't think he's done that yet? He was good on Have I got news for you as well.
Doc is that a sitcom type thing on R4? Am looking for new radio comedies (currently very much into Cabin Pressure).

I adore him, (enjoyed his book Fibber In The Heat quite a lot, but would have liked more dirt on the debauched hell that was the Balamory stage tour) but I am so furious with Nigel from Rev for behaving so appallingly, that I find it hard to look at Miles being funny Confused.

Have just been looking at bits on YouTube. Yes, I definitely love him. So jealous that you went to school with him sharpkat! I wish I had a claim to fame like that. My best is that the Wigan football club manager stole my popcorn Grin

I think he's done at least one episode of QI iirc, and he's been on HIGNFY several times too Grin
I read somewhere that he once played the Edinburgh Festival, and the audience was full of parents and children expecting to see "Archie" and his actual stand up act is for adults, and he had to make it all up as he went along because none of his material was suitable for all the tender little ears Grin

You can download In and Out on iTunes. It was on r4 recently but prob not on I player anymore. It's hilarious. DH loves it too. We both share our Jupp crush which is good (though his is down to MJs extensive cricket knowledge)

doc What I really want to know though, Is what Nigel Slater thinks of In and Out? Do you think he's flattered?

He was in Harry Potter, if you like random facts. Order of The Phoenix iirc.

I didn't realise until I went to the studio tour and all of the wand boxes in Ollivander's shop have the names of cast/crew on them and I was idly staring at them and saw a 'Miles Jupp' one. I had to google when I got home!

Saw him doing stand up at our local pub a week ago. Had never seen or heard of him before so this thread was a coincidence! Really liked him :)

dozy In and Out of the Kitchen with Damian Trench is his R4 sitcom. The character is most definitely based on Nigel Slater. It's very funny but I think it takes a few episodes to get into the characters.

I listened to audiobook of Fiddler in the Heat, I love his delivery style and it was very funny, though quite cricket heavy.

I love all of the "let's dance for comic relief", all of the celebrities really get into it. I loved Jodie Prenger's word up and the tap dancing ones. Weapon of choice was brilliant! Can't for the life of me remember who did it!!!
But no, he really can't dance. Which could be why he did firestarter! It's not really a dance-y one is it?!

EverythingsDozy Rowland Rivron did Weapon of Choice, another underrated comedy legend.
