Ohhhhh....I'd love a little caravan. How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking?

I loved my old caravan but it has now gone to caravan heaven. Just wasn't roadworthy any longer.

Para - she cost £ 500 e bay . Totally sound but old. I reckoned you pay above that fir a holiday cottage so it saves money very quickly! I wd go for it! We don't even have a drive and she is stored on a local farm but sometimes we just bring her to the house for the day and sit in her and read and often neighbours come in too .

I have a beautiful wagon in my garden, I spent ages looking at images online for decor ideas.
My one tip is only start one project at a time .
Good luck.

I have a 2001 2 berth Elddis which I'm currently sat in.

I've never thought about painting it inside or out. Its bog standard white caravan on the outside and the inside has kind of mahogany vinyl wallpaper stuff.

Can you paint the outside of a van. Does it need special paint?

Here's a shot of the kitchen area. Excuse the mess, haven't tidied after dinner yet.

I do like all the older funky, retro vans. Guess mines a bit more boring.

I dream about having a static one day. When I was a kid all our holidays were spent in my nan's caravan. It was a really old one with gas lamps and a big water bottle thing that we had to fill up from the tap opposite ~ no fridge and the telly was plugged into the car battery. I think I'd like a slightly more modern one :)

Thanks OP. This thread has inspired me, I'm going to start saving up. I need one that can fit a family of four though.

Para - enjoy! Not only will you have adventures but u will enjoy decorating it or more in my case buying pots and pans cushions for it etc . Plus you sort of know your little escape route is there for weekends away.
Re size I wish I'd got four berth but you can get awnings instead and attatch to caravan if dc suitable age - we have teens - wish done it years ago- and they have own tents . Partly 2 berth ok as they are too long for some caravan beds.
You can get v expensive new caravans - I think cheap water tight ones are just fine and I don't think you have to pay a great deal unless you want mod cons . We have the basic s and I'm besotted with ours ! Go for it - maybe look on Pinterest!

We have a static van which is in a very very quiet park on the East coast of Scotland- right on the beach. I love it and hope to live in it during the summer months when l retire although that is a long way away.
We have just had a wrap around deck added-satallite tv and are looking for deck patio furniture.
