AIBU?

to want to phone up regarding interview??

Had interview on Monday, which I thought went really well. They told me they were hoping to have "things wrapped up" by end of Tuesday, and so would be phoning people by this morning at the latest. I have been practically sitting on my phone all day, and not a sausage yet.

Part of me really wants to phone and ask them if they have made decision yet. Especially considering if I have got job I'd be starting on Tuesday.

Should I just wait for them to phone?? And assume that if I haven't heard by now its bad news??

I would give it to Friday and then phone and ask for feedback on the interview.

They aren't open Friday - its bank holiday. Do I phone tomorrow afternoon? X

I would presume it's a 'no'. Ring after the bank holiday weekend for feedback.

Do it.

When I was younger I got chosen for the job because I was the only person who rang up and seemed keen.

I'm sorry to say that when this has happened to me it has meant I haven't got the job.
The time I did get a job they rang me 3 hours after my interview and I nearly jumped out of my skin with surprise.

If you ring, you show interest. If you haven't got it initially, and it goes to someone else who declines it, then you have upped your chances of an offer.

I would presume it is a no as they may have made an offer to their primary candidate and are waiting on their response prior to contacting you.

If you had a panel interview, the group will have scored your interview. If the initial first choice turns the offer down, the offer will go to the second etc

Agree - call tomorrow afternoon if you haven't heard anything

You can't harm your chances by phoning; so ring. Not too late on Maundy Thursday: many places start winding down about three.

I would advise sending an email thanking them for inviting you to interview + having met them you have a better idea in how to assist them/team working etc (give examples)

I would not call them as you may catch them at a bad time.

Thanks all. It's quite a large utility company with 700 plus staff, so when I call tomorrow I will be speaking to hr lady (who arranged the interview) rather than the woman who interviewed me.

I will definitely call tomorrow morning, will give it till 11 for them to call. I am hoping that perhaps they didn't get through things as quickly as planned. The interview went so well, and I have lots of relevant experience, so I would be surprised / intrigued if I didn't get it!!

Give them a ring tomorrow and ask if feedback is possible if you haven't been successful. But don't despair, this happened to me once and the reason the call came late was because the Chair of the Panel had a child rushed to hosptial and had two days off.

If that is the case , the HR rep will have no feed back for you so will just take your details to feed back to your interviewer.

So so so so so happy!! They apologised for not calling me before - they hadn't had a chance to get all relevant staff together to discuss it (some staff part time, some shift etc).
