To think they shouldn't feature the Oscar Pistorius trial on Gogglebox

Was watching Gogglebox last night and it is quite funny, but I was surprised that they showed the Oscar Pistorius trial on there. I know Gogglebox is all about looking into 'real' people's homes and getting their opinions on all things telly, but it is essentially a comedy/entertainment show. When they show the trial it seems to just be treated as another tv show they are tuning into, rather than a real life murder trial, involving a young woman and her shattered family. And they showed one of the girls watching it saying 'yeah like of you were in the bathroom you would just be like, what ya shouting for, calm ya tits', which is supposed to be funny.

AIBU to think that Gogglebox would be just as entertaining without the inclusion of a real life murder trial?

Yes I squirmed at that bit too, very ill thought out on Channel 4's part and not appropriate at all.

YANBU-I turned over at this point because I thought it was really distasteful. It went too far.
