while out shopping with my 8 month old we walked passed a Greggs bakers and noticed a woman come out with some pasty's. she took a bite out of one and then shoved the corner of the pasty into her child's mouth, ok not so bad but this child looked no older than my little boy, would estimated 6-9mth max. why oh why would you give a Greggs pasty to a baby???
I don't care generally how other people feed their babys, bf, ff, baby led weaning, organic, homemade or pouches/jars, but really GREGGS!
aibu thinking this is wrong for a child so young?

who cares?

Hassled Mon 14-Apr-14 17:45:07

Well, it'll put hairs on his chest, if nothing else.

Yawn

Did she have a froot shoot too?

Sirzy Mon 14-Apr-14 17:45:22

Meh, I can't get upset about a little bit of pasty. Its hardly as if they were giving the baby a whole sausage roll (which would make a rediculous mess!)

MY TIME MACHINE HAS WORKED! IT'S 2006!

AwfulMaureen Mon 14-Apr-14 17:46:14

Did she actually "shove" it? hmm

Damnautocorrect Mon 14-Apr-14 17:47:16

A pasty a day helps you work rest and play.
How much of that pasty do you think they'll actually consume?

kinkyfuckery Mon 14-Apr-14 17:47:34

If he was hungry and had to eat, what would have made your specifications?

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 14-Apr-14 17:47:34

Very normal in NE England. We have had pasty babies since 70s.

insancerre Mon 14-Apr-14 17:47:38

baby@greggs would make a fab name for their pre-weaning baby range
the assistant could pre-chew it so that all you had to do was shove it in your baby's mouth

Sirzy Mon 14-Apr-14 17:48:20

lol insancerre - they could even have purred jars for babies too young to chew it

tobiasfunke Mon 14-Apr-14 17:48:44

It's BLW at it's finest. No need to take the pasty home and puree it.

elahrairahforprimeminister Mon 14-Apr-14 17:48:45

I like Greggs.

A teeny corner of pasty will do no harm.

usualsuspectt Mon 14-Apr-14 17:49:17

Did he have coke in his bottle too?

WorraLiberty Mon 14-Apr-14 17:49:22

YANBU at all

She actually ate some of her child's pasty?

Greedy bitch

squoosh Mon 14-Apr-14 17:50:22

Meh, nowhere near as good a story as the guy who is suing Greggs because the oven fresh pasty he tried to shag scalded his cock.

Pobblewhohasnotoes Mon 14-Apr-14 17:50:30

Love a Greggs pasty.

Mine had the corner of a greggs pizza once, she loved it, it doesnt happen every day and she was teething- wait why am I justifying it to you?
surely once in a while its not a problem- my lo also ate scallops at that age, so can I be known for that and not the greggs, thanks

GeordieJellybean Mon 14-Apr-14 17:51:24

I gave my BLW DS a bit of my stottie sandwich from Greggs the other day, he loved it!

Sunnydaysablazeinhope Mon 14-Apr-14 17:51:39

Ah so you know do you that baby has pastys for every meal in Gregg's do you? Not just occasionally?

I took kids to McDonald's today. Come and have a go if you think you're 'ard enough! Alternatively find something better to worry about...?
