So... I ordered some curtains from a small local company, and said I needed them by this Friday. Dh booked the original appointment and I have sorted out the fabric, measuring and details and confirmed from my e-mail the order....

Today I e-mailed to check they were being delivered before Friday only to get the following:

I am really sorry but I sent the first invoice plus a statement to [your DH] plus the second one with a covering note explaining that the fabric could be ordered on settlement of the invoices . Unfortunately I can't order fabric without payment in advance as clients can and do change their minds and As soon as we receive payment I will get on to ordering this straight away. The maker had requested the fabric by no later than today so I am unlikely to be able to fulfill this for Friday I am very sorry
Warm regards ....

SOOOO, AIBU to be fuming at the company, who despite speaking to me all the way along and e-mailing etc. has decided my DH is responsible for the bills or should I be fuming at DH for not reading his bloody e-mails???

Both.

Pissed off at the company for emailing the wrong person and also at DH for not just forwarding the emails (unless he's like mine and never looks at them!)

What a bucket of arse.

Be annoyed with your DH.

It sounds like the 'go to' email address is that of the person who booked the appointment.

It's annoying but I can kind of understand it as I imagine the person who books, is nearly always the person who handles the sale and payment.

The company are not at fault. They sent the invoice to the person who made the original appt.

It's your DH who needs a cat's bum look tonight as he explains himself.

The company is dead right not to have proceeded without the fabric costs being paid, and your DH should read his bloody email instead of disassociating himself from domestic responsibilities.

Disclaimer: I am overreacting against your husband a little because I am in a bad mood, but it's still his fault.

I'd be annoyed with your DH.

Presumably they didn't just get his email address from nowhere, it was given to them as a contact method. It's not their fault if your husband either doesn't check his emails or doesn't communicate with you.

Did you explicitly tell them to contact you? If not, they will have just used the details they first wrote down. You should be cross with DH for not passing the message along.

I would say it is your husband you should be speaking to. It sounds as if he is rather like mine, and only remembers to check his emails once in a blue moon.

Make sure he looks this evening, or before then if possible, so that he can either pay and re-arrange the appointment or he can forward all the details to you so that you can sort it out yourself from now onwards (often the best option, in my experience with a man like this).

It's your DH fault.

Dh booked the original appointment as he booked the original appointment he is the customer.

Oh yikes - poor you.
But unless you told them to contact you I can see why the invoice sent to the person who made the appt.

Your dhs fault I think.
