I am male. I have size 11 feet. I buy cotton socks in the 9-12 size range, with coloured toes and heels so they can be paired.

So what in the name of God Almighty posseses two women, both size 6 1/2, to steal the fucking things and wear them mismatched because "pairs are boring and yours are comfier than ladies socks".?

Buy your own FFS.

Mens socks are usuallly comfier and more hard wearing than womens Grin
Actually my DH would sympathise. DS is now in the same sock size as him amd is getting a little tetchy about the sock stealing...
In this house you snooze you lose!

We also have sock, tights and stockings arguments in this house. Hubby's and mine I can about deal with and sort out from the clean laundry (though I can make mistakes).

The kids have sooo many pairs of plain black socks, plain black tights, plain black stockings etc., which all look the same to me. Apparently they know which is whose, but even so, I have still heard them arguing it out. I leave them to sort their own socks, tights, stockings etc. from the mass that come out of the clean laundry. I take no responsibility for it at all.

Now my OH prefers Womens (and childrens) socks as he says the size range suits his feet better ie he likes the 4-6 1/2 size rather than mens 6-8

Its a pain as the DS is catching him up and is only one sock size behind him and when they chose the same days of the week socks it became too confusing

When running late for the school run I use the "If it fits, I takes" rule. DH apparently has the same since he tried to leave the house in my boot cut jeans the other day.

I fucking hate people nicking my socks. My ex used to do this (I'm a 5 and he was a 10!), so kind of the reverse of your problem. I'd go to my drawer and there would be no socks or odd socks or stretched socks! Drove me insane.

I no longer buy myself socks and just use some from dh's sock drawer. He doesn't seem to mind or notice tbh

Occasionally people will buy me girly socks and dh has been known to wear them too Grin

We all wear blacks socks for work/school and I loathe the pairing up.

DS had ribbed
DD has scalloped topped
I have a diamondy embossed pattern
DH has whatever I buy him ones with a white discreet logo.

But it gives me a rage.

My lovely DD has the same size feet as me so often covets my socks Hmm
And she's looking too long and lovingly at my grey Converse Hi Tops.....

I often wear my husband's socks. I'm a size 7-8 so if women's shrink a bit in the wash they become too small. My husband's always fit and I much prefer the longer ankle part on his socks. They never make the ankle bits very long on women's sicks, so if I'm sitting at work and my trouser legs ride up a bit I worry that with women's socks on people can tell I haven't shaved my legs for a few days!

I've given up, 3 of us (male/ female / teen / adult) can get away with the same sized socks, I have a small basket of black socks and we all delve in it. If we get a pair with matching coloured toes then it's a good day. My younger son is given grey socks to easily distinguish them.

I do buy myself fluffy house socks in various pink and sparkly colours, in an attempt to fend of my sons from wearing them. It hasn't worked, they walk around in pants, dressing gown and pink fluffy socks. When challenged about it they say it's only a colour and not just for girls. I brought them up all wrong.

YaNbu for wanting your socks to be yours. Yabu for the kin there's any thing that you can do about it.

Oops. I am wearing DH's socks today! He never ever notices as he has three drawerfuls (don't ask me why) of the things.

We have communal adult socks in this house. It's not like they need to support breasts or penises is it, no need for a sock gender divide.

DC feet are almost big enough to join in but for now they still have their own socks. When that happens I am throwing out all socks and getting a shit load of identical ones and will never pair the fuckers up again.

I once wore DPs socks by accident and they were uncomfortably big and he is only 3 shoe sizes bigger than me, so I don't know why anyone wears others socks.

I have my own socks, but they are mens because they are better than women's .
