to think that the Nutella people have an inflated sense of their own importance?

On the site if the jar it says that it wants to celebrate by sharing "unique Nutella stories" ... Apparently there's a special moment behind each slide of bread with Nutella.

Am I missing something?

My special unique moments involve hiding in the kitchen, mumbling to the kids that they can watch more cartoons if they leave me alone for a minute, eating it off a spoon. Hardly treasured special moments hmm

Lidl Choco Nussa. 750g jar. £2. Nicer than Nutella and apparently no palm oil. AND spreads more easily.

Not what Nutella's marketing department wants to hear though...

No, scoop nutella on a spoon. Put spoon in whole into a cup of milky coffee. Let heat do its work, at the end of the coffee eat now softened spoon of nutella.

You are welcome.

I bought cadburys chocolate spread as I was catering for kids and wanted a nut free buffet. It was rank. Nutella tastes much better!

Nutella spread on a digestive biscuit.

We were allowed it very rarely as children. My mother used to buy the little individual pots like you get Philadelphia in so that we could have it at Christmas. So it was special for us. We generally have a pot in the cupboard now but very rarely use it and I never give it to the children, they don't even really know it's there. I just stir a smudge into my porridge in secret.

Nutella is banned in my house because of their use of Palm Oil - Stop buying Please!!! Rain Forests are being destroyed and animals driven to near extinction sad

Notso, is he allergic to all nuts? If not you could make some using different nuts. There is a recipe on taste.com.

When dd went on school camp last year we had crunchy nut cornflakes, peanut butter and satay chicken.

HolgerDanske Wed 19-Mar-14 20:39:31

You made me eat Nutella...

pictish Tue 18-Mar-14 18:10:40

Slice open a brioche, spread with Nutella, decorate with banana slices, and pop the top back on. Lush.

NewtRipley Tue 18-Mar-14 18:09:47

I agree with hiddenhome and others. The advert is deliberately misleading.

I do like a nice Nutella and sliced strawberry sandwich though

wonkylegs Tue 18-Mar-14 18:07:28

Vile stuff that is banned from this house even if DNephew says it's the only thing he will eat. Fussy child might have to starve (or grow up and eat properly)

AnnieOats Tue 18-Mar-14 18:07:21

It's the stories you tell your DCs to explain why you've got chocolate around your mouth when you said you were just nipping to the loo, and the reasons you give them as to why they can't have some.

I use the supermarket own brand.

Hate Nutella. It makes me feel sick.

Tryharder Tue 18-Mar-14 17:59:59

I wondered the same thing Worra...

Don't know about there, but in America they don't say that it is healthy. They say that you can make it a part of your healthy breakfast. Big difference.

Also, I've never tried it on bread. That just doesn't sound good to me. <hides spoon>

Viviennemary Tue 18-Mar-14 17:48:56

I love nutella but I hardly ever buy it. Too much temptation. But I can't see how they can say it's healthy.

hiddenhome Tue 18-Mar-14 17:45:03

Why not just eat two whole hazelnuts and have a glass of milk instead? grin

notso Tue 18-Mar-14 17:44:30

My Nutella story is sad because DS2 has a nut allergy and we can't have it anymore. <<sob>>

WorraLiberty Tue 18-Mar-14 17:40:37

I wonder how many filthy stories they're going to get grin

BankWadger Tue 18-Mar-14 17:39:53

Or the rain forest killing palm oil.

HadABadDay2014 Tue 18-Mar-14 17:39:02

Nutella is gross.

The advert used to drive me insane, eat serving has 2 whole hazelnuts and a glass of milk

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Tue 18-Mar-14 17:38:55

...they fail to mention all the diabetes inducing sugar though

And that it is primarily made from oil...
