AIBU?

To think a fresh ravioli 'for two' pack from the supermarket barely does one person?

Or am I just greedy? Just finished a waitrose mushroom filled ravioli pack for two in about 5 minutes flat. This is not unusual. Apart from breastfeeding I've no excuse for big eating. I'm neither big nor small (10-12). Does anyone genuinely share these?

aren't ravioli meant to be starters ?

I'll only share a pack with DP if we have garlic bread to go with it :)

I never take any notice of these things that say 'serves 2'. It's always a lie. I've just eaten a lovely curried paneer meal 'for two' this evening as it happens.

I think they're perfect for 1 1/2 people

All reassuring so far. I'll tuck into my pudding Grin

Think you're supposed to eat them as part of a dish, not a dish on its own...

I'm trying to cut down on pasta anyway...it's really hard!

Yanbu, on it's own it's definitely not for 2 people.

I can't eat a whole pack, but half isn't enough. DH could probably eat 2 packs!

Yanbu. I share this with DS who eats about 4 as he's only 10 months!

Yep, can't eat a whole pack by myself, but half isn't quite enough.

I share a pack with a 4 yr old so just about right amount for me Grin

Well, between three of us (me, DH & one small child) we'd probably have a pack and a quarter (small child probably has an eighth). Tend to add cheese to pasta though and serve with a salad, so not entirely on it's own.

Pudding definitely required!

Sainsbury's do an offer for two packs for £2.50 or something. That feeds me, DP and DS (3 - so small portion) plus garlic bread. If I shared one pack between me and DP he'd be wondering what I did with the rest of his dinner!

We add salad and garlic bread. On its own, it isn't enough for two so don't worry about it.

They are just a bit too much for one but not nearly enough for two... So irritating!

We do two packs with roasted veg and cheese do three portions one of which I'll have for lunch the next day.

Beccadugs · 16/02/2014 21:50

Sometimes though we just eat the lot

StolenShortcake · 16/02/2014 21:52

We tend to half one with some tomato sauce...

THen again, I tend to eat what I'm given, so I could probably eat more if it was served, or less.

I eat one to myself too, I assumed it meant it serves 2 as a side dish!

We do 4 packs between 6 which is just about ok.

FudgefaceMcZ · 16/02/2014 21:59

Hmm, it's normally enough for me and 2 kids though we will usually have bread or salad (as well as sauce) with it.

I do 2/3 of the pack for dinner and then the other 1/3 for lunch the next day. So yanbu!

And this is why we have an obesity crisis, we've completely lost sight of what adequate, reasonable portion sizes are. And I say that as an overweight person myself.

But I'm not obese BirthdayMuppet, I'm not even overweight.
