... to think my MIL is right and I am a grabby, son stealing, cow bag who is raising her grandchildren wrong?

musicposy · 10/02/2014 22:06

I'd like the sort of AIBU you never see on MN -

AIBU to adore my MIL and want to see her all the time?
AIBU to think my DD is not gifted or talented or even slightly good at anything?
AIBU to feed my family on only £1000 a week?

or just the completely random but quite useful to me, in fact I might post them-

AIBU to only ever knit DH one sock or glove? (this is true, I can never be bothered to do the second)
AIBU to paint my house in magnolia and brown and to hate grey walls even though I'm 10 years out of date?

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 10/02/2014 22:06

To think that fruit shoots aren't actually that bad?

To think that spelling mistakes are hardly crime of the century?

To not give a shit if the girls toys/clothes section has pink and the boys section has blue. Or if they are labelled 'boys and girls" toys/clothes

:)

Wierdywoo · 10/02/2014 22:35

AIBU to feed my DC fruit shoots and ice cream for breakfast?

magimedi · 10/02/2014 23:18

Don't tempt me - just don't or I'll be drummed out of the place!

ZingSweetApple · 10/02/2014 23:32

AIBU to want to sleep on the loo because I had the runs for 2 days?

(I very nearly posted this an hour ago!)

AIBU to want to hire someone to do the school runs?
(because I hate them. with a vengeance)

AIBU to pronounce "AIBU" as "I - ee- boo"?

AIBU to want supermarkets to rebrand BLT sanwiches into LTB just so that I can giggle at them?

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 10/02/2014 23:39

AIBU to take my DS to a party even though he's been up all night with diarrhoea and vomiting?

Actually, that one probably has been done...

Amytheflag · 10/02/2014 23:47

I'd like thread titles that were more honest

AIBU to make up fictional twins to get my jollies stirring up a load of MNers?
AIBU to make up fictional gay children who have come out to me and I didn't really overreact and ask them to change because they don't exist?
AIBU to make up crimes that didn't really happen to get a load of sympathy for my fictional version of myself?

Would save a lot of hassle reporting.

AdmiralData · 10/02/2014 23:49

AIBU to loudly exclaim 'You're WELCOME!' when you open a door for someone and they sneer at you?

ZingSweetApple · 10/02/2014 23:53

AIBU to think that some feminists go to far and make women look pathetic?
ZingSweetApple · 10/02/2014 23:56

trip

quite

AdmiralData · 11/02/2014 00:16

Trip I have to ask because I'm a bit thick and don't know an awful lot about feminists, in what way do they make women look pathetic? (Genuine question) Thanks in advance Smile

Amytheflag · 11/02/2014 00:17

AIBU for making fake joke threads that are a load of bollocks even though the whole site got shut down on NYE for posters doing the same thing?

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 11/02/2014 00:25

It depends on the type admiral I've witnessed a few 'feminists' lately who take everything as a slur on women, think we all have the same thoughts and opinions on things but either pretend we don't or have just been constructed by men (God forbid we could actually have our own opinions) and the only way to be strong is to all hold hands. It would take a lot of explaining but some really don't do us any favours. Not forgetting the every man is a rapist bull shit!

AdmiralData · 11/02/2014 00:31

Ahh. I'm with you now Trip.
I'm not all that great at debate but as a victim of rape myself that old chestnut about every man being a potential rapist really fucks me off.

Joysmum · 11/02/2014 07:41

Trip I was going to write the same. I often find myself writing about the so called feminists who actually limit my choices and have impacted on how I'm judged, ridicule my and limit my choices far more than the supposedly misogenistic men they loathe if women don't agree with them Angry

I'm 40 and have been the victim of sexism and feminists whilst men have had far less impact.

echt · 11/02/2014 08:19

My mind is boggling at how a feminist can limit your choices.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 11/02/2014 08:21

WIBU to throw my 10 year old "DD" out of the 2nd floor window due to her attitude from hell.

TamerB · 11/02/2014 08:25

I find that feminists on MN want to limit your choices. You are supposed to think one way. I took my husband's name, therefore I did it without thinking because I am uneducated enough not to know that I have a choice! It is not allowed, as a possibility, that I made an informed decision.
To me feminism is about choice, I have been specifically told on here that it is not!!

TamerB · 11/02/2014 08:28

I would like to start one with 'do you realise that you can't control your child's whole environment unless you stay at home without visitors'. Aimed at the number of people who think they can control what anyone says to their child, from the fond granny using baby talk to the women who tells them off when they are running around the library.

PiperRose · 11/02/2014 08:39

AIBU to divorce my husband because of his undying love for PiperRose.

From Elsa Pataky.
