to ask for a Hitachi Magic Wand as birthday present from my partner?

I've heard the most wonderful things about the Hitachi Magic Wand and I'd love to have one but should I buy it myself or suggest it to my partner as a birthday present?

I wouldn't want to make him him feel he isn't 'enough' by making the request, because he's very good in bed actually.

Would I be being unreasonable?

Hang in. 'Cord'?? You plug it in?

I thought it was a Harry potter themed remote for the telly

"it's just fanny ticklers"

I like having it tickled but if it ends up feeling as if it's been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, I won't be quite so happy. shock

Unless this wand has a 'gentle' setting, I think I might try something less enthusiastic.

frugalfuzzpig Thu 30-Jan-14 22:01:32

It looks a bit... Overenthusiastic.

And not cordless? What if you get tangled up?!? grin

MrsMoon76 Thu 30-Jan-14 22:01:55

Trust me, there is no gentle setting. Its like being hit in the fanny with an electric sander.

AnUnearthlyChild Thu 30-Jan-14 22:04:11

It's not rated for use in the EU tho is it?

frugalfuzzpig Thu 30-Jan-14 22:04:44

I'll stick to the weakest 3 settings on the rabbit thanks shock

EBearhug Thu 30-Jan-14 22:07:13

I agree with those who say there's no gentle setting. It's too intense. Okay on the back (which I believe is what it was originally designed for), but I wouldn't buy one to use on more intimate areas unless I'd already tried one and knew it worked for me. It does really work for some people, but not everyone. Plus I don't like having to plug it in. I like such things to come with less risk of entanglement or at worse, electrocution.

Have a look for the Lovehoney version. Which has a CE mark and comes with a UK plug

www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=20464

They also have some videos there as well - not using them on some one I hasten to add

nessus Thu 30-Jan-14 22:21:52

The bloody thing is just too intense sad And plug hums if left plugged in so not exactly stand-by ready. And yes, noise level is ridiculous... You (l) feel like a bad parent just turning it on with children (DD) in the house! Definitely not sexy making afaiac but I am at a loss as to how to get rid. Freecycle perhaps? hmm

newmorning Thu 30-Jan-14 22:24:40

The LoveHoney version and the Acuvibe both look good.

Decisions. Decisions.

I doubt a supplier of either will let me loose on a test drive. confused

I'm looking for a new toaster, that's why I clicked on this. I'm disappointed. Damnit, Janet!

WilsonFrickett Thu 30-Jan-14 22:28:55

Well I was sitting here thinking 'that's either a toy magic wand, some kind of newly invented musical instrument or a food processor, I'll click and have a look.'

It's a fanny sander. Who knew?

Don't discount the Bodywand also from Lovehoney. Lovehoney accept returns for up to a year, even if things have been used. Returns policy

Bagtrainlady Thu 30-Jan-14 22:36:47

I clicked on here because I had no idea what a Hitachi Magic Wand was! I have now had to explain to DP what I am literally lol-ing about.

MN it's such an education & laugh!

newmorning Thu 30-Jan-14 22:37:36

"Damnit, Janet!"

It's intenser than Betty Munroe had (Oh Brad!)
I'm sanded quite flat and I'm so glad (Oh Brad!)
Designer vaginas are no fad (Oh Brad!)
I've one thing to say and that's
Brad I'm mad for you too!

WilsonFrickett Thu 30-Jan-14 23:48:12

Here's a wand to prove that I'm no joker!
There's three ways that love can grow (tickle, grind, smack!)
There not bad or mediocre!
Oh my sanded vag, I love you so-oh-oh!

The funniest thing would be if someone now posted "Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" a la Chas and Dave.

Dawndonnaagain Fri 31-Jan-14 10:26:58

newmorning That's brilliant! grin

A friend has one and she let me try it (through my jeans) and it certainly does give you a hell of a buzz.

I shudder to think think what it feels like on your actual girly bits but I'd love to find out.

More research needed.

londonrach Sun 02-Feb-14 10:32:11

Mn is such an education. I clicked as thought it was a new duster....seems it is but not for the area i thought! Just out of interest ....(call it educational curiosity) surely it would be painful, and dangerous being plugged in. I mean you not a lamp or tv?

mrsjay Sun 02-Feb-14 10:55:26

I thought because it was Hatachi I thought this was something very different like a telly remote blush, one of my dds had a Doctor who one

<backs away from thread>

I'm not really worried about it being plugged into the wall socket as long as the cord is sufficiently long to allow me to recline in comfort while I'm buzzing myself into blissful oblivion.

After all, we use lots of hand-held electrical appliances every day and I've not yet managed to electrocute myself.

Having said that, if I am going to electrocute myself, I'd prefer that the 240 volt current didn't run up anything that was, er... shall we say, 'super conductive' at the time - but that's the risk you take I suppose when you're seeking the finest private pleasures. wink

mrsjay Sun 02-Feb-14 11:07:39

you need to plug it in <faints>

Branleuse Sun 02-Feb-14 11:10:19

We have one. I bloody love it.

It could get an orgasm out of a stone, I swear
