Another poor defenseless child suffering at the hands of the one person they should be able to trust to safeguard their well-being.

R.I.P little angel.

She's been released too hasn't she? Horrible.

Dolly I think you could be right!

Poor child. She's a disgusting human being for doing this.

Dawndonnaagain · 23/01/2014 15:16

The date on that article is January 2012.
Poor child, but the woman was very obviously ill.

Ok, so this is weird. Two years old and the website doesn't look quite right - the photos look oddly fade Hmm

Joules68 · 23/01/2014 15:22

I remember this case

Why was she obviously 'ill'?

Report
Electryone · 23/01/2014 15:25

Dawndonna, why do you say she was "obviously ill". She may well have been but do you not think some people are just bad without bringing in illness as a reason?

Report
TooOldForGlitter · 23/01/2014 15:25

Why was she "obviously ill"? If the father had done this would he have been "obviously ill"?

Report
CoffeeTea103 · 23/01/2014 15:26

Dawndonna some people are just evil without them being ill. No need to justify her disgusting actions.

Report
Dawndonnaagain · 23/01/2014 15:28

Yes, some people are evil without being ill.

  1. Not trying to justify.
  2. Look at the state of the place. Ill is the obvious conclusion.
  3. Where you at the court?
  4. Do you know of some evidence of evil?
  5. Why are we discussing an article that is two years old?

I do agree with dawndonnaagain, people who are quite well, coping with life, tend not to end up in the situation that the woman and child in the article did.

I'm not sure why you'd be 'mortified' by it OP, unless it was your job to monitor the family.

Dawndonnaagain We are disscussing a 2 year old article because my fried brain did not process the date on the article, for that I apologise.

Yes she was released in April 2013. She even had the charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice quashed as well. Whatever her health issues were she was still able to cover his death up for months to family etc....

Dustybaubles I would think any human being with a heart would be mortified that such a young life was lost in this manner.

No, 'mortified' is a bit of a bad choice. I found it grating, too. Sorry.

OK wrong choice of word Horrified fits better

much better. Language is weird, isn't it? An innocent mistake in wording can be really painful, and dig at emotions, even though it's just words on a screen.

I do not know what actually happened but the Mother who lives in squalor that way was in my mind ill or and on drugs.

Report
SoleSource · 23/01/2014 16:21

It was once a nice home by the look of it.

Report
SchroSawMargeryDaw · 23/01/2014 16:24

She wasn't exactly "ill", but she was a drug addict. It was all over the papers here when it happened and was going to court. (in Glasgow)

Poor wee boy, drugs are not an excuse for that, she used his cot where his body lay as a bin. Plenty of people tried to help her according to gbe papers here.

Weelady77 · 23/01/2014 16:55

It boils my blood when drugs is used as an excuse!! IMO they should all be sterillised!!

Report
DustyBaubles · 23/01/2014 17:48

Steady on there Weelady, your compassion and ability to look at the wider picture might overwhelm you.

Have you unfortunately mistaken MN for the DM? Sad

Who are the great 'they' that you want sterilised?
