I've been on MN for a few months, I downloaded the app after googling something!
Now on my phone it's not showing me rules and regulations of MN

What are the rules of posting on things? As I've just posted on a couple of threads and 2 people have mentioned about zombies!

I've gathered lol pmsl etc are not allowed!

So could someone kindly tell me what's not and what is allowed pleasesmile

Hello Wee. Have a look at the talk guidelines here that is all you need to know. Don't know if you can see that on your phone.

Textspeak isn't normally used.

Just be yourself, don't be an arse and you will be fine. Don't take anything to heart either. it's just chatting on the net.

Bit baffled by the mention of zombies.

BeeMom Sat 11-Jan-14 16:49:19

Zombies are old (dead) threads you resurrect by adding a new post to them and bringing them back into active convos - generally long after the issue has been resolved or the OP has moved on.

JeanSeberg Sat 11-Jan-14 16:51:16

OP - do you mean posting on old threads and you've revived one without realising, hence the zombie comment?

DesperatelySeekingSanity Sat 11-Jan-14 16:51:27

Zombie threads are ancient threads - check the date (year) the original post was made so you don't reply to something that was resolved two years ago!

Weelady77 Sat 11-Jan-14 16:52:58

Thank you ladies I asked on a thread I had commented on and I didn't realise it was old threads people had commented on today before me, but I've just been told I'm not a new user and I've changed my name!! I changed my name back in July or August as I had put my real name!!

Objection Sat 11-Jan-14 16:56:11

Hi Wee, I was misled by that same zombie thread - that poster gave you a rough ride; ignore. AIBU is known for being a bit rough at times wink

Weelady77 Sat 11-Jan-14 16:58:09

Objection your not wrong there wink

Sparklingbrook Sat 11-Jan-14 17:01:08

Wee you will come across people who feel they need to police the threads (other posters not MNHQ who can do this). they try to tell you where your thread should have been posted, pull you up on grammar and spelling, that sort of thing. Just ignore.

Whiskwarrior Sat 11-Jan-14 17:01:29

Blardy hell. There is another poster with an extremely similar name who has been an arse recently. I have actually apologised on the other thread once I realised my mistake.

I apologise once again.

Weelady77 Sat 11-Jan-14 17:06:15

It's fine whiskwarrior I just didn't look at the dates when I first read the thread!
Like I said I don't post often but have done on other threads more recently, so didn't know rules etc!

Whiskwarrior Sat 11-Jan-14 17:07:38

I was mortified when I realised you weren't who I thought you were Weelady. Not a great introduction to AIBU for you. Please accept some virtual flowers in lieu of real ones.

Weelady77 Sat 11-Jan-14 17:12:32

Honestly it's fine smile

I really need to learn about MN as I'm bad for putting lol!! God forbid

Whiskwarrior Sat 11-Jan-14 17:14:34

Just please don't use omg - you'll break MN grin

TheBigJessie Sat 11-Jan-14 21:31:09

weelady I'm sorry that AIBU has been an unenjoyable experience for you. That's genuinely not a criticism of you. As you've said yourself, to each his own and you have disliked responses here since you tried it out nearly a fortnight ago.

May I once again suggest chat? In Chat, threads older than 90 days are deleted, so it wouldn't matter if the zombie warning doesn't display on your mobile phone. (What phone model are you using? It may be worth you telling MNHQ that doesn't display on your model.)

Whiskwarrior Sat 11-Jan-14 21:32:58

grin

Weelady77 Sun 12-Jan-14 12:39:17

grin Feeling a bit stalked

Maryz Cote D'Ivoire Sun 12-Jan-14 13:27:28

Stalked?

Do you mean "replied to"?

Weelady77 Sun 12-Jan-14 13:34:53

Nope stalked!! Or it feels like it

DameDeepRedBetty Sun 12-Jan-14 13:41:31

If you've got a fairly distinctive username sometimes it gets noticed on different threads. And Weelady is a rather good one, I noticed it and it made me smile straight away. Then people who spend far too much time here (like me grin) start to unconsciously use information they've picked up about you on one thread when they reply to you on another. Hence the feeling stalked!

Whiskwarrior Sun 12-Jan-14 13:42:27

Erm, no.

Because I replied to the child modelling thread before you did, not after, which would rather imply that you were stalking me, if anything.

And when you start a shirty thread about being picked on (and dress it up as asking about the Rules), people do have a right to reply.

Weelady77 Sun 12-Jan-14 13:45:52

I totally understand they didn't like what is done on another thread I actually agreed I could see there point! But every time I comment on something they bring it all back up looking for an argument to me it feels like stalking!
It's like a bee in her bonnet she can't let go for some reason,
This board probably isn't the best for me I'm not an argumentive person

Weelady77 Sun 12-Jan-14 13:50:26

I asked a genuine question as I didn't know, but once again the claws come out, there actually are some genuine people who ask genuine questions!
How was I to know what a zombie was?

Whiskwarrior Sun 12-Jan-14 13:50:53

Hello?

You can address me directly, rather than referring to 'her'. I am on the thread. That's rather childish, isn't it?

And it was you who brought it up again on another thread in the first place. Hence me and Jessie responding to you.

How are you so oblivious to your own bad form on the threads?
