I am so frustrated by this, though, because it is my entire 2 weeks' leave that is now gone under a pile of snotty tissues and empty lemsip sachets.

Definitely back to bed if you have the chance. In bed here with an ear and throat infection, with my 7 week old snuggled next to me.

Do feel a tad guilty about DH having to entertain 8 year old DSand 17mth old dd, but needs must.

<offers hankies and honey and lemon all round>

YANBU. Your body is telling you to rest, so listen to it. You won't do yourself any favours trying to do more than you're ready for. Get loads of fluids down you and eat properly.

DP's mum has had a stinker of a cold, which turned into a chest infection. She's had one lot of antibiotics, which did help a bit, but she's still wheezy and sounds terrible. Whatever strain of cold virus has arrived round here, I think it can just bog off again. Having said that, I've evaded it so far <crosses everything, touches wood, salutes passing magpie, etc.>

Yeah, I've had the sore back too, and the blocked nose, it's horrible sad

The other night I needed sleep so badly I took two "night" lemsip and some codeine just to zonk myself out. I may have to do the same tonight as I only had about 3 hours sleep last night.

The cold that is doing the rounds in my town is very impressive this year, I must say. Two weeks and I still feel shite.

Back to bed again with my aches and pains. Also having trouble sleeping, Livingetc, because I am so sore (ears, throat, glands, back, shoulders).

sad

I have a heavy cold. If i could id be in bed, am home alone.

I find chest infections exhausting. I need more rest to get over a chest infection than I do to get over flu. Go back to bed, rest up, and get better. YWBU to miss the opportunity for rest!

Go back to bed! I'm on my third day off and I have a horrific cold. Can't sleep properly so I'm tired and bunged up and feeling crappy.

I'm in bed with my laptop, a box of tissues, meds and a massive bar of galaxy!

You're my New Best Friend, WaffilyVersatile. Promise.

Yanbu. I'm not out of bed yet.

WaffilyVersatile Fri 03-Jan-14 10:44:34

GO BACK TO BED!!!

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere Fri 03-Jan-14 10:43:53

Won't someone please tell me I can go back to bed?? grin

The day before I went on leave 2 weeks ago, I started a cold. It was a bad one and developed into a chest infection. I spent NYE and the next day in bed. I STILL feel crap despite being on anti-biotics for the 4th day now.

DS is bored or on the pc all day playing games. DH is mooching around or sleeping on and off. The weather is not helping. I feel like I should be feeling better, but I am not yet right.

I want to go back to bed but I feel like I should snap out of it seeing that there are many many more people in worse situations than I am in.

So, AIBU to wallow a bit and go back to bed? Or should I find that elusive grip??
