He has everything he needs.
Has all the books he wants, has technology does not need or want more.
Bought him something for his camera and sweets for Christmas already.
Does not want or need toiletries.
Does not want or need clothes/shoes/coats
Loads of sweets/gifts/alcohol in the house as Christmas.

Got him some of his favourite chocolate and some thermal gloves already for his birthday as he walks a lot.

Everything I come up with gets a no from my Mum.

Please help me!

Write him a nice card and make an insert for 'dinner with us' or 'dinner for two' or similar in it.

Basically treat him to time

NinjaBunny Wed 25-Dec-13 20:48:23

Ooooo, yes!

A naice dinner somewhere could be good.

Does he like movies?

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 20:52:38

He will not eat out or go out to movies or shows or such sorry. sad We have dinner with them every weekend at home. He hates going out apart from his walks. He already has new boots/coats/walking stuff.

Maps?

DoItTooBabyJesus Wed 25-Dec-13 20:59:12

Sorry, posted too soon. I love walking and I love OS. maps. Their site is great, you can personalise the maps, so choose your midpoint and choose scale etc. you can get historic maps too.

Worth thinking about?

Does he have a nice flask?

blurryeyegirl Wed 25-Dec-13 20:59:52

Does he like cooking? Is he a coffee snob? What does he enjoy?

DoItTooBabyJesus Wed 25-Dec-13 21:00:31

Ice shoes?

I love a thread like this!

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 21:01:29

Ohhh flask might be useful.
DD loves maps didn't realise you could get personalised ones!

DoItTooBabyJesus Wed 25-Dec-13 21:03:24

Oh yeah, you can also get them flat or folded. The site is great, get on it!

DoItTooBabyJesus Wed 25-Dec-13 21:07:45

Thermal long johns?

A heat pad (like a hot water bottle, but plug in) I love mine!

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 21:08:48

likes cameras/telescopes/walking but got it all, only goes very local as not well, cannot use telescope at moment as they have put lighting up nearby and he is not well enough to get out with it.

Got Ice grips.

Found a camera lense flask on argos but not in stock argh.

Seriously he is a nightmare to buy for as if he wants it he buys it withing reason.

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 21:10:32

Got long Johns
Has a heat pad

[sorry]

We fell into a National Geographic shop on holiday last month, amazing gift opportunities, some really cool stuff, give them a google?

DoItTooBabyJesus Wed 25-Dec-13 21:13:21

I think I saw that flask in water stones, randomly.

Shall I keep thinking?

Does he love his heat pad? fsmile

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 21:13:54

thanks Wilson will have a look.

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 21:18:04

Ooh thanks do it! Will have a look!

NinjaBunny Wed 25-Dec-13 21:34:56

I meant DVDs rather than going out to movies it's too frigging expensive.

Loads of awesome films in the shops at the moment.

moldingsunbeams Wed 25-Dec-13 21:53:08

A dvd might work, I wouldn't know where to start though, he only watches sifi/science/big bang theory/QI type stuff.

I thought of bbc focus subscription as he loves the magazine but won't like it because of cost of them (about a fiver each) and prefers to pick them up second hand and cost takes enjoyment out of them [bangs head against wall]

Do you know if anywhere like amazon or ebay does vouchers you can print off or if supermarkets do vouchers only to be used in specific areas so he HAS to buy himself something with it?

pandarific Wed 25-Dec-13 22:05:52

Has he watched Breaking Bad? Boxset? I know you say it's not his usual kind of thing, but he might surprise you..

Orrrrr as he likes his sci fi, how about a Battlestar Galactica box set?

pandarific Wed 25-Dec-13 22:06:56

Ooh ooh or Game of Thrones, if he's not seen it yet. Sci fi and fantasy has a bit of a crossover in fanbases.

This might sound a bit strange but I bought my Dad a remote control helicopter and he loves it. Like a big kid with it and my DDs can join in playing with it too.

Amazon do print out vouchers

Joysmum Thu 26-Dec-13 07:57:47

Hubby and I prefer experiences to 'things'. We like to make memories. Hubby is hard to buy for as he too has everything. So for Christmas I've booked us a spa break. My SIL got us App Store vouchers and vouchers for a good restaurant.

Hand warmers to go in the gloves.

Lights that go in the bath.

Flower seeds/bulbs to plant.

A GPS and an 'introduction to geocaching'
