I'm so disappointed with my friend. She's bought her daughter a puppy for Christmas. Not only am I disappointed but extremely annoyed with her, I think she's being bloody selfish. I think at some point if she mentions the gift to me I am going to have to speak my mind.
The reason I feel as I do is that she has form for buying pets and then getting rid of them a few months later. Last year she got a kitten and within months she discarded it, locked it out of the house until it stopped hanging around trying to get back in. She didn't even have the decency to take the poor thing to a cats home.
She works full time practically so I have no idea how she expects to care for this puppy in the early days. She's always complaining she's skint and I wonder has she taken into account the costs of looking after a dog, not to mention the time commitment considering a dog's lifespan.
Arrghh, I just needed to vent, I really dislike people who have this attitude to animal welfare. This also makes me question my friendship with her if I'm honest.
