AIBU?

to spend all the time on MN and ignore the MASSIVE pile of presents...

...that I have to wrap up? DH has been on at me for a week to wrap the presents. He is claiming that he is only trying to help me by driving me bonkers telling me every time he opens his mouth reminding me that my priority is wrapping all the kids presents, my parents, our nephews and niece's, other children we buy for and if I have time his DD's.
If he wanted to help he could, oh I don't know...wrap some presents!!
He just doesn't want me staying up til 1am Christmas morning wrapping.
Before anyone says anything, I have wrapped one of the DCs presents (as in one of the children not one, single, lonely giftwrapped box amongst the ridiculous amount of others)
He is lovely and works and I am a SAHM but its the constant 'Have you got much wrapping done?' when I also have all the usual stuff to do.
So AIBU to just tell him I was involved in a very in depth debate on MN and unfortunately I can't wrap anything and he'll have to do some now?

YANBU. I would suggest you do it together tonight!

My lovely Dsis helped me yesterday... DH is a terrible (and super slow) wrapper!!!

YXNBU to tell him that if it matters to him that much then he can wrap them himself and if he doesnt want to do that then STFU, you will do it in your own time.

Actually, I (because I am a bitch) would wrap precisely half of the kids presents, your parents and half the N&N's. He can do the others, especially his DD's (who I presume is/are DSD to you?).

I'm ignoring a huge pile of presents too, but will have to start paying attention because a lot of them have to go in the post so staying up on Christmas eve isn't going to be an option. Viciously snarling "well you wrap some then" may become an option later, though..... Wink

I wonder how many presents some of you buy?

I haven't even bought any yet, when I do wrap them it will take all of half an hour.

including stockings... Wink

I have 3 children.

I have 3 children too...but I start my shopping in about January (I'm all about the bargains people!) I forget how much I have! They are 7, 6 and 3 so its all fidly bits too Angry It won't really take too long (maybe about 3 hours all told) but at the risk of sounding all Kevin and Perry 'Its just so unfair!'
I'll do some tonight and get most done tomorrow but he'll just bask in teh glory of placing them in the relevant piles on Christmas Eve. Envy
To be perfectly honest his wrapping skills are shocking (seriously you should see my presents on Christmas morning..its as though hes thrown it through a hurricane of paper and sellotape although the presents are always lovely) so I'd probably get annoyed with him and end up doing it anyway. Grin

This is a very relevant thread for me and a timely reminder to get started!

Every year I vow to wrap all my presents as I buy them but it never happens! The next best thing is to get everything wrapped at least a week before Christmas, and that never happens either! Every single Christmas Eve sees me frantically wrapping presents into the wee, small hours and calling upon my husband to help find the ones I've hidden too well!

My annual vision of a relaxed family Christmas Eve, watching a lovely seasonal film together while enjoying a glass of mulled wine and festive nibbles fails to materialise with disappointing regularity!

However the mulled wine might make an appearance. .the wrapping may suffer. Might as well let DH help Grin

YANBU.

As a SAHM, I would love to devote my days to getting Christmas ready. But the bloody DCs keep making clothes dirty and wanting feeding. Oh, and apparently they still need to go to school, so there's that as well.

I've done one DS, DH, DM and DF. Dh has done DMIL, DFIL and (I hope Grin ) me. Only the other DC to go. I find that a bottle glass of wine and a festive film helps me do some wrapping of an evening.Smile

I went to see Father Christmas today. We were informed that the elves do the wrapping. WTF?! All these years and I've wrapped the fucking lot myself. I've asked for the sodding elves to be sent to my house ASAP!

Stick Love Actually DVD on & take a roll of paper, sellotape & pile of presents each & both of you wrap while watching TV. Try & do a few each night while watching telly so it's not a chore.
