to not send a Christmas card to the lady who drove her car through the side of our house.

I am not feeling very Christmassy towards her to be honest.

Bah humbug!

Disclaimer: she is my neighbour and a 'friend'

ViviPru Mon 16-Dec-13 22:37:27

Did she do it on purpose?

MrsDrRanj Mon 16-Dec-13 22:37:31

She did what?!?!

Do you live in eastenders?!

JanetAndRoy Mon 16-Dec-13 22:39:58

If this is your house, ...YANBU

IhaveNoOpinion Mon 16-Dec-13 22:39:59

Vivi - yes, in a moment of madness we think (nothing against us personally, she is going through a really tough time and my house bore the brunt of it)

MrsDr - Nope. Just a normal house on a normal estate. Feels like it though!

IhaveNoOpinion Mon 16-Dec-13 22:40:54

Love It Janet.

No, not quite as bad as that, but in honesty, not actually that far off.....

kslatts Mon 16-Dec-13 22:41:17

Well if she did it on purpose then YANBU.

MrsDrRanj Mon 16-Dec-13 22:42:32

Is the house badly damaged? If so is she going to pay for it?! What has she said to you about this?

I'm in shock!

MrsDrRanj Mon 16-Dec-13 22:43:12

And I'd want to do a lot worse than cross her off my Christmas card list!!

TheBigJessie Mon 16-Dec-13 22:43:54

Did you have a bay window, and live down the road from a chip shop?

Or do you live in a totally different house and it's simply that multiple people have had cars drive into their house?

IhaveNoOpinion Mon 16-Dec-13 22:44:29

You are in shock MrsDr?? This happened in bloody June and it is still not fixed. Due to insurance screw up, the whole gable end of the house has to flipping come down now!

ViviPru Mon 16-Dec-13 22:44:57

Wow.

Oh well, in the scheme of things, I'd rather be you with a hole in my house and a nice fat cheque from someone else's insurance to spend on a lovely new interior design job than her with a life so unpleasant she would be compelled to do something so crazy. Send her a card. Sounds like she needs it.

How about this one?
http://arbroath.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/car-paid-impromptu-to-house.html

Will sending her a card make her feel more guilty?

ViviPru Mon 16-Dec-13 22:45:51

x-post. That sounds like a headache. But still, rather be you than her.

IhaveNoOpinion Mon 16-Dec-13 22:46:46

Different house Jessie

We are on a little private drive off an estate. Her drive faces our gable end. For some unbeknown reason, she decided to floor her car into the side of our house??

2kidsintow Netherlands Mon 16-Dec-13 22:46:46

I've seen OP's house. And the damage.
Yes to the bay window. No to down the road from a chippy.

Must be more common that you realise!

TheBigJessie Mon 16-Dec-13 22:47:20

Okay,

IhaveNoOpinion Mon 16-Dec-13 22:47:37

Ha ha 2kids. Not my house but scarily similar!

TheBigJessie Mon 16-Dec-13 22:48:50

You're definitely a different person, then. Godlets, it shouldn't happen to more than one person!

RenterNomad Tue 17-Dec-13 00:39:49

Would you have written to her in prison?

Pawprint Tue 17-Dec-13 07:33:53

Good God - was she attempting suicide?
