Thanks all, just been and they were fine, really nice, the guy said "a deal is a deal" and just refunded the difference onto my card didn't even have to go through refunding and re-buying :-)

WhereIsMyHat Thu 14-Nov-13 11:03:55

Yes, definitely do it. I agree that you should never pay full price at gap smile

MissMooMoo Thu 14-Nov-13 10:16:32

I used to work for the company and thats absolutely fine!

CuChullain Thu 14-Nov-13 09:28:42

No one should pay full price anywhere! Retailers inflate their prices so they can lure us in with discounts.

Yes, how dare retailers and high street businesses try to maximise their profit margins.

Do it. I work in a clothes shop and we get a similar thing all the time where a customer will buy stuff full price only for it to go down in the sale afterwards. Providing the clothes are unworn with tags on and they have the receipt then we have no problems refunding them the difference. It's no different to them returning the items full price and them coming back at another time to buy them in the sale, so it just makes sense to do it all at once.

I've always rated the service in my local Gap. Yes, just do it, I'm sure they'd do the same!

PurplePidjin Thu 14-Nov-13 09:19:27

I bought ds a coat, got it home and found it only fitted (12-18 month size, he's 11 months, i was expecting growing room) so took it back. They refunded me the 30% from a promotion unasked, i was well chuffed!

MrsSteptoe Thu 14-Nov-13 09:16:40

I suspect from your post that you are far too polite for your own good. Do it. They're not your friends, and what they think of you really doesn't matter. Incidentally, I would put a tenner on it that Gap staff will simply think you've done what they would do in the same circumstances.

GillyBillyWilly Thu 14-Nov-13 09:09:45

I would. However I wouldn't ask. I'd just go to the till, refund it all, walk around the shop, try some other things on and then re-buy with the voucher smile

ViviDeBeauvoir Thu 14-Nov-13 09:03:29

I would! They're usually ok about this sort of thing anyway.

Definitely do it. Nobody should ever pay full
Price at Gap!

Voucher valid till next Monday, essentially I could just return the stuff get my money back and go in tomorrow with the voucher and rebuy but a hassle so want to do it all at once, will go at lunchtime!

I would definitely do it!

trixymalixy Thu 14-Nov-13 08:33:15

Just do it! Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Trills Thu 14-Nov-13 08:32:39

You can ask.

They might say "no, you must present the voucher at the time of purchase".

Is the voucher still valid now? Or was it only valid at the weekend?

If it's still valid now you could return the clothes and re-buy, which would be a bit of a hassle, especially if the only one of an item in your size is the one you just returned.

hermioneweasley Thu 14-Nov-13 08:27:09

Just do it! What is there to be embarrassed about?

whoneedssleepanyway Thu 14-Nov-13 08:24:40

Bought some clothes in Gap at the weekend all still unworn with tags on.

Realised I have 30% voucher in Grazia.

WIBU to take the stuff in with voucher and basically return and rebuy with voucher immediately.

I just feel a bit embarrassed doing this!
