So don't go to one. Job done.

I find the idea of lots of things extraordinarily dull. So I don't do them.

YANBU, just don't go.

Pan Mon 11-Nov-13 18:21:33

This is no.21 in a series of 564,8929 of threads by moonie which she posts whilst waiting for the pasta water to boil, for dinner. I guarentee she will not be returning to this thread...wink

Tee2072 Mon 11-Nov-13 18:22:32

This one sounded anything but dull. But I am really glad I missed it.

organic pasta natch

the idea of one might be dull - lots of people REALLY enjoyed it

BOF Mon 11-Nov-13 18:24:36

Who did go? I'm curious.

lemonmuffin Mon 11-Nov-13 19:13:22

No yanbu. It's all a bit self-indulgent isn't it?

Pan Mon 11-Nov-13 19:15:47

I think some bloggers, and those interested in blogging went, BOF. Can't be entirely sure though.

BOF Mon 11-Nov-13 19:26:45

I don't really see how it is self-indulgent. People want to learn how to make their blogs more readable, more visually appealing, increase their traffic, make a profit, get exposure, etc etc. Fair enough to get advice and share tips.

I wouldn't be interested, because I don't blog. I don't go fly-fishing either though, but I wouldn't start a thread to slag off anglers meeting up to pool their experiences.

Tee2072 Mon 11-Nov-13 19:34:55

Heh. Pool their experiences.

moondog Mon 11-Nov-13 19:46:41

Nay, Pan.
Twas in tennis.
grin

Blogging.
Yaaaaaaaaaaawn

reelingintheyears Mon 11-Nov-13 19:56:01

Yeah, you are quite right moondog, blogging should be banned and bloggers flogged to within an inch of their boring lives, that'll lean 'em to go boring the shite out of all the really interesting people.

And anyone who plays tennis should be battered to death with tennis rackets, boring game. hmm

MistAllChuckingFrighty Mon 11-Nov-13 19:57:30

This is a boring thread, isn't it ?

MistAllChuckingFrighty Mon 11-Nov-13 19:58:23

Well, I watched the Jo Brand contribution and thought it was great. So there.

reelingintheyears Mon 11-Nov-13 20:01:13

Bit of a bore hole really Mist.

Must be careful not to sink into it.

reelingintheyears Mon 11-Nov-13 20:02:21

This thread that is, Jo Brand was great I have invited her out for a pint next week at our local I loved her.

MistAllChuckingFrighty Mon 11-Nov-13 20:02:42

Poisonnally, I find people who post about how such and such is "boring" to be a bit lacking in the "interesting" dept themselves

katese11 Mon 11-Nov-13 20:05:27

Yeah, it was dull... as long as you don't enjoy watching intelligent women (and some men) debating issues that are relevant to all internet users, not just bloggers. It was boring watching a young female mp ripping a smug journo to bits. And I could have fallen asleep during the feminism debate if it wasn't for all the shouting. [Hmm]

Each to their own I guess. .. but dull was not the weird I'd use to describe it. ..

If only someone there had taught me how to use my phone blush

MistAllChuckingFrighty Mon 11-Nov-13 20:11:06

tell us more about the young female mp ripping the smug hack to bits... grin

Stella Creasy (now girlcrush of 90% of MN Bloggers), taking on Toby Young, most famous for not really making it in New York...she was saying that Twitter users should be protected from abuse (death threats etc) by law, he was arguing some technicality that made no sense.

Stella won :D

MistAllChuckingFrighty Mon 11-Nov-13 21:02:11

Yay, I liked her anyway

Dunno who Toby Young is though. Kinda fitting smile
