This morning I did pancakes ( American style) with maple syrup and bacon with a mix fruit salad.

For dinner we are having roast pork and stuffing ( home made that Paxo is vile) roast potato and vegetables ( broccoli, carrots, sprouts, peas, Savoy cabbage) with home made Garvey.

Do you tend to cook more on the weekend when you have more time.

We have bacon/sausage/eggs on Sunday morning after DS1's football training. Our other mealtimes shift accordingly - breakfast, second breakfast, 2pm peckish, 6pm tea.

Today I have had plain chocolate hob nobs for (first) breakfast because I've just had a baby and am stimulating milk production Grin Wink but I might bring him downstairs in a bit to see if anyone's putting a frying pan on.

We have "proper" food every evening so there isn't a real difference in weekend evening meals. DH does like a roast though, and I often make a sponge pudding (rather than offering just yogurt, fruit etc).

garvey sounds much more exotic than gravy.

it all depends on how I am feeling and where we are. (home or granny's)

I cook everything from scratch because am very fussy and won't eat anything processed. So breakfast is porridge with honey & a fruit salad with oj for everyone. Then lunch is usually a sandwich or salad. Saturday night is usually homemade pizza or curry. Then Sunday dinner is usually a roast beef dinner with trimmings.

During the week is pretty much the same but only because I now have the time to do it, unlike when I was a slave to money & worked stupid hours in the city!

I do tend to do breakfasts at the weekend - this morning we had fried egg sarnies, but will often do blueberry pancakes, or oatcakes and mushrooms etc. And I sometimes make a cake on a Sunday, or a crumble or somesuch. Also, I'd be more inclined to cook things like a lasagne at the weekend.

Generally though, we eat 'proper' healthy meals in the week and then Friday night is takeaway night and Saturday is usually something easy like an M&S quiche and salad, or mushroom pasta or something. Sunday is usually my pottering in the kitchen day.

I freelance so unless I have a meeting out of the house, I tend to cook dinner all the time.

I never cook breakfast though. My husband occasionally does a fry at the weekend.

In a bit I'm going to make roast lamb, baked potatoes, stuffed courgettes and Yorkshire Pudding.

Tee that's sounds amazing.

What are you stuffing into the courgettes

It's not so much into, because I bought baby ones, but more on top of:

Slice them in half lengthwise and place in a dish.

Combine parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, butter and some minced garlic, no idea quantities, until it looks like enough. Grin

Spread evenly over the courgettes and bake in a 180C oven for 20 - 30 minutes.

When I use regular size courgettes, I scoop out the inside of them and add it to the cheese etc mixture and stuff it back into the shells.

On a Sunday we only eat two meals.

We have a big breakfast, and much later than the dc usually eat (10am rather than 7.30). We'll have cereal/toast/scrambled egg and sometimes a fry up.

Then we have a big dinner around 3.30pm. Today is a lamb roast. This is followed by a dessert (trifle today) which we don't usually have.

Inbetween the kids will have fruit/yoghurts as snacks and usually a few biscuits with their milk before bed.

I didn't have breakfast this morning but would normally have porridge. Tonight we are having chicken and chorizo risotto.

We cook more on weekends. But we also eat out more. Breakfast today was granola, yoghurt & honey at a local cafe, lunch at a Turkish restaurant and for dinner DH is making a borlotti bean and pecorino risotto followed by apple & blackberry filo pie with macadamia nut ice cream.

I like having a full cooked breakfast on one of the mornings if we aren't going out. Evening meals vary, if we're out they can be more hastily cooked than during the week but tonight it's risotto as I have time to stir it and some mushrooms that need eating up

We have time for a cooked breakfast at the weekends. Usually a Sunday though. It's more a brunch than breakfast.

Dc have cereal around 9am whilst I lie in to about 10am/10.30am reading in bed before cooking brunch.

This morning dc had weetabix around 9 & when I got up I made them whole meal rolls filled with bacon & sausage. I had scrambled eggs, tomatoes & bacon.

Dinner of stuffed roast chicken, veg & potatoes is on cooking. Fruit for dessert.

We do have cooked dinners through week though, just not cooked breakfasts.

Dh gets up late as he doesn't get in from work until the early hours so we have a brunch rather than breakfast. This morning it was bacon and fried egg sandwiches with fresh eggs from our chooks. No lunch and we are just about to have a roast followed by sticky toffee pudding. We don't always have a pud on sunday and if we do it'll be a fruit crumble as I've loads of soft fruit from the allotment frozen, but I happened to be in the co-op earlier and the sticky toffee was looking at me!
