So I was in my kitchen with my DH doing our VAT return. He was sat at the table and I was perched on the edge of the table with the lap-top on my knee - so technically I was sitting on the table.

My just 7 year old DD walks into the kitchen to get a drink. She helps herself then I say to her "right, back to bed now please"

She turns around and says -

"Okay mum, I'm going, but by the way "tables are for glasses, not for arses" Shock

Would you have laughed like me?? In my defense we did have a quiet word about 'naughty' words afterwards.

I'd have laughed Grin

I'd have probably just said night DD, btw arses is a rude word. Sometimes saying nothing confuses then more - especially if they know it's rude!

Exactly what I thought Donkey :-)

I would be extremely amused, and quietly extremely proud of her poetic comedy stylings.

My 9 yo DD does a brilliant Ron Weasley impression - 'that was bloody brilliant!'

I have dared her to do it next time we go to the IL's just so I can see the look on MIL's face.

Alas I think DD has more sense than to try it on with the old bat.
