Dh taking 2 dcs to an activity this morning and I am taking the other dc swimming.

Dh moans about having to give youngest dc a bath. He then literally storms into the bedroom where I am still getting ready and demands to know where the socks are-shouting btw and glaring at me.

I point out that possessing a pair of ovaries does not imbue me with magic sock finding powers and suggest he looks in a drawer. Cue lots of mutterings and pa comments under his breath.

Was I bu to refuse to look for socks? Background-I am sahm, well work very pt,he works long hours, throws this in my face often and doesn't lift a finger around the house.

No you are not Bu. Tell him to bugger off
and find them himself. Men are just like
this I think (some men !!!) SAHM is a full
time (24/7) job- you just don't get paid.
Or get weekends or evenings or nights
off!! (Rant over)

Oh don't worry I told him to fuck off when he started being very passive aggressive and saying I couldn't wait to get rid of the kidsHmm

This isn't about socks this is about the fact that you have a rude disrespectful husband who thinks it's ok to shout at you and who resents looking after his own children.

Shattered - being a SAHM only involves constant slaving when you're with a useless partner who couldn't care less about you.

Yep agree cailin-he was being a giant twat. He spent 7 hours yesterday and spent a fortune on a very, very small bit of diy. He is useless at diy-fucks it up every time. He could have got a handy man to do it in 5 minutes for 20 quid but oh noHmm

He then set the alarm for half 7 this morning even though there was no need to get up at that time on a sunday-waking the whole house up and making more pa comments about being tiredHmm

Well done pinup

Er...alright Callin. My DH is pretty helpful
and does care about me but also works a lot and my DS doesn't
sleep loads during the day so I run round
trying to get things done whilst he does.
Clearly you're more organised then??

No shattered I'm not organised at all. I have a 3 yr old ds and an 8 mth old dd who doesn't sleep. But I do not work 24/7 because when DH is here he cooks, cleans, gets up with the kids etc basically he does half of everything.

I agree that is the way it should be cailin but if I want my dh to do anything around the home then I have to moan the face off him-its like having another child!

We are going to inlaws today and he will be expecting lots of and will get praise for the tiny bit of diy he doneHmm

You've got bigger problems than socks I'm afraid.

You've married a tantrumming dickhead who thinks just because he works full time it excuses him from doing parenting.

The point I was making, Cailin, was that you
(ie pinups DP) can leave your work at the office. You don't
stop being a parent when it's the weekend.
I wasn't implying it was a 24/7 slog.

Sockfinder General, if you please - if you don't get the title/rank right, how ever will you command respect?

Misses point entirely
