Cat comes in soaking wet from the garden and comes to me to be dried. I rub her with a towel, and get her all nice and dry and fluffy. She then goes straight back outside and this is repeated ten minutes later. I think my cat is BU.

I put my cat out in the rain instead of washing her yesterday cos she waited till we were half way back from the vets to do a wee in her carrier then ended up covered in it.

The older my cat gets, the longer she spends sitting out in the rain. I think she has hot flushes.

Reminds me of one particularly foul rainy evening sitting on the sofa with my son watching television. Our lovely old ginger cat coming in, shaking himself like a dog in front of us so the rain went all over our legs then going out again and repeating the whole thing several times.

I think he got a satisfactory reaction from us each time - well satisfactory from his point of view. It's surprising how much rain a cat's coat can hold.

Gosh my cats dry each other with their rough towel like tongues. I don't think we'd get near thrm with a towel!

ha ha Rhubarb - apart from the fact our door is shut - she doesn't like our bedroom and rarely comes in.

Soontobe at 2am she just burrows under the duvet and rubs herself against me.

She has her own door grin

my puss licks himself dry, takes him ages and afterwards he's all clean and fluffy, =then goes back out it the rain= btw don't forget to tie down your pussies during the storm, they may take off! hmm

Er... Don't let cat out again once you have dried him?

Ddog hates getting wet. Once wet he comes and demands towel and rub. Then shakes himself. Then rolls over Ds's bed to get the final damp bits off.

If no towel available goes to Ds's bed first.

On that basis, and if your cat is going to use you or your bed as its dryer, you ABU

One night she stood outside our bedroom door at 2 in the morning meowing her face off cos she was slightly damp.......OH opened the door and shouted "you have got to be fucking joking!!" at her and slammed the door - she hasn't tried that again.

grin Norbert

DH does the cat drying (a bit obsessively) in our house.
Even cat is quite nervous when he gets the towel out on a wet day! I think a naice cagoule would be preferable indeed..

I need one of those, Sparklingbrook.

Yup, same in our house, I've barely got my arse back in my seat after being shouted at by her to get get her dried, when I see her prancing about outside in the rain - she is a fucking cow of a cat.

bundaberg Sat 26-Oct-13 21:30:17

NorbertDentressangle Sat 26-Oct-13 21:26:54

I'm sure there's a witty comment to made here about a wet pussy but I'm too tired to think about it grin

brainwashed Sat 26-Oct-13 21:22:41

Ahh my cat does that cos he loves to be dried :-)

fortyplus Sat 26-Oct-13 21:21:57

Mine comes in and runs upstairs to sit on my bedroom windowsill. Fine - except that he goes bounding across my bed on the way and leaves muddy footprints all over my nice clean sheets! Can you train a cat to stop and wipe his paws on the doormat? grin

Sparklingbrook Sat 26-Oct-13 21:19:19

Just the job

Rhubarbgarden Sat 26-Oct-13 21:14:54

I love shave her and buy a cagoule.

Gemma at least yours has the decency to object. This one seems to positively get off on it. I feel used.

GemmaTeller Sat 26-Oct-13 21:05:08

Yep, we've had that today, boy cat came in from over the field covered in mud and soaking wet (this is a regular occurance) and wanting a fuss.

Only thing is he won't let you dry him, I have to corner him in the bathroom and then be hissed and growled at while I clean the worst of the mud off.

He then strops off to the bedroom for five minutes then comes back for a fuss.
