AIBU?

To think just because you turn something orange doesn't mean it's Halloweeny.

I've just been looking for a piccy of it but can't find one, the beans have little horns and faces on them - in the picture on the packaging, probably just normal beans inside.

Just accidentally hid the thread and thought I'd spookily posted on a ghost thread Grin

Pray tell... what is with this "halloweening" fucking everything in sight??
Why must my biscuits and beans and other ordinary food stuffs be halloweened?

Will I suddenly feel more spooky as I tuck into my beans on toast? WTAF?

Exactly Farely. Cadburys and Heinz seem to have jumped on the bandwagon. Oh and there are something by Monster munch called 'Webs'. Confused

I don't mind a bit of Halloween but this is all a bit bonkers.

I wish Halloween 'celebratory shit' would fuck the fuck off back to America. It's got ridiculously out of hand now and I'm seriously pissed off with being asked for new costumes each year (no!) or to make costumes (double no!) or if I will take dc begging for sweets from strangers trick or treating (triple no!).

And as for kids in a shitty mask knocking the door and saying 'trickle treat'. Fuck.off.

Is this why I keep seeing young girls in orange face paint everywhere?

....oh no, silly me, my mistake, its badly applied fake tan and foundation! Wink

The whole of TOWIE are orange, that's quite scary.

Report
superbagpuss · 20/10/2013 13:27

Im torn about trickle treating

I don't want dc to go and beg
dh wants them to have a bit of fun

DC are four, its yet to be decided

AngryFrank · 20/10/2013 13:27

isn't orange the official colour of Halloween? It does seem everything gets the Halloween treatment these days, even beer. I was drinking Hobgoblin and Pendle witches brew last night down my local

DS2 is allowed to go Trick or Treating but is only allowed to go to houses that are obviously celebrating. We put a pumpkin with a candle in the front window round here to show it's ok.

I love Halloween...it's better than Christmas Grin

But then I love any excuse to dress up as a zombie and scare people...

I love trick or treating - we also only knock at Halloween houses - and I always get way too much tat in ...sadly this means I have to eat lots of chocolate to stop it going to waste

I do dislike to obviously money grabbing band wagon jumping though - pah 'special edition LABELS' my arse

ScarletLady I do Zombie as well - complete with wounds and zombie lenses - scares the living daylights out of all the twee fairies that come knocking Grin

Aaah it's all a bit of fun isn't it though? Sure it's commercial as hell but I like it. I like spooky shit anyway though, so it's just nice to be able to buy more of it at a certain time of year.

A colleague got married a couple of years ago on Halloween so had a spooky theme to the wedding. Lots of orange & black and spray on cobwebs.

Their wedding cake was a tiered stack of Mr Kipling orange halloween cakes. It was fab. Halloween Smile

None of this is as bad as all the bloody Jubilee shite they brought out though, all sorts of bizarre stuff having union jacks plastered all over it just because ... ! Everything from toothpaste to lip balm to 'Ma'Mite' (quite liked that one Grin) to Tabasco sauce iirc

[de-rails thread and runs off]
