Two very kind people helped me with my dcs while shopping this morning. They made my day easier and brighter and I think they enjoyed chatting to my dcs (who really had the cute turned up to 100 bless them). Oh and a man put back my trolley for me. No particular reason he just did it. Small things make a big difference.

I agree, most people are nice. Especially in times of need. Its just the ones that are not nice stick in the mind somewhat!

However, I think it's easy to get a skewed view on how many not so nice people there are out there, because we tend to mention them more.

Agreed. I always try to do one "nice" thing a day, even if it is only stopping to say hello to someone or giving someone a nice smile.

I agree - and I find most people are kind, lovely and helpful. So much so that it always shocks me when you do meet the occasional rude person.

Agree with you. And attitudes do seem to be transmitted - kindnesses are often carried forward by people, whereas negativity seems to be spread by everyone getting cross.

Yep,agree. I know cynical people who think you're a mug if you do something for nothing and it drives me mad. Its called being nice!

I agree too - unfortunately the negative experiences stand out in your mind, but the reason for that is because most of the time people treat each other with kindness and respect, so when they don't, we remember it.

Yes - I think the reason you get so many threads etc about people who have been rude is because, actually, it's rather out of the ordinary. Normally people are quite nice to each other.

Agreed and even some people who seem moody or rude are probably nice people having a bad day.

I agree too, lots of kind lovely people around. I have had strangers pay my bus fare because I didn't have enough and I now pay it forward to others. A small kindness goes a long way. Really helped me see good in my life at even my darkest times.

Ds has a favourite waitress at our usual cafe and will always toddle to the counter to say hello to her, get shy and run off. The last time we went in he pinched a small packet of biscuits which I noticed when we sat down. I insisted he take them back so we could pay for them. The waitress refused to accept payment insisting she wanted to treat him and that she loved it when he came in. Cue massive smiles from Ds.

I also think you are more likely to share an awful experience rather than a good one. It's liek trip advisor, are you more likely to report a nice meal (that wasn't amazing, but nice none the less) or a bit of fluff on your plates and a miserable waitress?

I personally don't do this :o but I know people who do. One of my husband's friends is an absolute stickler for complaining and it really gets on my nerves
