I can just about tolerate "lol", I've used it occasionally

But what the fuck is "loooooooooool" all about?

Do you really laugh out out out out out out out out out loud??

(I know I know...first world problems, petty etc, I might start hash-tagging in a minute)

Hmmmm...sorry about thread title, that's supposed to be in quotation marks.

I have a friend who writes 'lolololololololol' it's very annoying. What happened to good, old fashioned 'haha' or 'that's so funny'?

I must admit I do like ROFL though Blush

I like ROFLMFAO even better.

I don't mind proper acronyms...I'm partial to the odd PMSL...

But my inner pedant feels the rage when I see loooooooool....I've seen lololololololol as well actually, that annoys me too.

ROFLMFAO is a good one Grin

I had a rather highbrow discussion about PMSL recently, my friend insists on writing PML because 'myself' is all one word. It just looks wrong though.

That's a good point actually...I've just outed my self (sic) as a hypocrite Blush

I don't get why people write, for example, kkkkkkkkkkiss, when they probably mean kiiiiiiiiiiiiss.

YANBU. Most definitely not. looool said aloud sounds like the sort of noise someone very drunk would make if they were simultaneously laughing and vomiting.

What does rolfcopter mean? I get the rofl bit, and I know what a copter is, but combined, what is that?

WTF does ROFLCOPTER mean???

I don't like any acronyms that describe laughter levels because the only accurate one is SALTS (smiled a little then stopped).

But I have to say when I read ROFL it makes me think of Scooby Doo. Rofl seems like a sound he'd make...

LOLOL always makes me picture zombies for some reason. Confused

I think I am going to start using SALTS to see if anyone texts back WTF or if it catches on. Grin

OMG, I never thought anyone else on MN would know ROFLCOPTER...

I'll join you Dahlen. We might start a craze! SALTS!

My DC have started saying lol instead of laughing. How lazy!
It really gets on my nerves.

Thank you Fractured :)

I used to have to communicate (a client, so couldn't ignore) with someone who alternated between lower and upper case letters:

sO HiS EmAiLs LoOkEd LiKe ThIs. He also referred to me as dame. No, neither of us is an American from the 1930s Grin
