To get really annoyed by "loooooooool&qu ot;??

(36 Posts)

I can just about tolerate "lol", I've used it occasionally <<shameface>>

But what the fuck is "loooooooooool" all about?

Do you really laugh out out out out out out out out out loud??

(I know I know...first world problems, petty etc, I might start hash-tagging in a minute)

'Lolage' makes me want to stab myself, as does 'ceebs'.

Totes ceebs lolage.

I thought it meant Lots of Love. Then i sent a condolence text to someone after their dog died.

That was quite a few years ago.

I hate them all. I use them occasionally as it helps me feel like i fit in. grin

I have dealt with a client who thought tax was an acronym...

"Can you let me know my estimated T.A.X. liability for the year?"

What would it be an acronym of???

Shallistopnow Tue 08-Oct-13 12:37:51

Saskia sorry but you actually made me LOL then. That client sounds hilarious!

SaggyIsHavingAPinkKitten Tue 08-Oct-13 12:23:55

How about ROFLTIPMP!?

Loooooooool just makes me think of GhostBusters.

There is no ScarletLady02.....only looooooooooool!

drivingmisslazy Mon 07-Oct-13 17:35:18

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Mon 07-Oct-13 17:33:00

Thank you Fractured smile

I used to have to communicate (a client, so couldn't ignore) with someone who alternated between lower and upper case letters:

sO HiS EmAiLs LoOkEd LiKe ThIs. He also referred to me as dame. No, neither of us is an American from the 1930s grin

ILiveInAPineappleCoveredInSnow Mon 07-Oct-13 17:04:46

My favourite is LSHABOWCO

laughed so hard a bit of wee came out

But I'm blaming my advanced state of pregnancy for that grin

I think I prefer LOLOCERAPTOR over ROFLCOPTER. Although bother are good.

MrsDeVere Mon 07-Oct-13 16:57:46

The same person who wrote me a whole FB message comprising of one big looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

also....sent....me...messages......written....like......this......wtaf.....is......all.....that.....about......lol?

MrsDeVere Mon 07-Oct-13 16:55:45

I have never understood looooooooooooooooool. It makes NO sense.

It means laugh out out out out out out (and so on) loud.

I use lol/lulz to annoy people. It amuses me.

KellyElly Mon 07-Oct-13 16:13:47

They are doing a big lol rather than a small one grin

Sindarella Mon 07-Oct-13 15:57:46

My DC have started saying lol instead of laughing. How lazy!
It really gets on my nerves.

KillerKoalaFace Mon 07-Oct-13 15:39:50

I'll join you Dahlen. We might start a craze! SALTS!

KatoPotato Mon 07-Oct-13 15:37:36

OMG, I never thought anyone else on MN would know ROFLCOPTER...

Dahlen Mon 07-Oct-13 15:37:26

LOLOL always makes me picture zombies for some reason. confused

I think I am going to start using SALTS to see if anyone texts back WTF or if it catches on. grin

KillerKoalaFace Mon 07-Oct-13 15:35:31

I don't like any acronyms that describe laughter levels because the only accurate one is SALTS (smiled a little then stopped).

But I have to say when I read ROFL it makes me think of Scooby Doo. Rofl seems like a sound he'd make...

SaggyIsHavingAPinkKitten Mon 07-Oct-13 15:31:37

WTF does ROFLCOPTER mean???

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Mon 07-Oct-13 15:31:15

What does rolfcopter mean? I get the rofl bit, and I know what a copter is, but combined, what is that?

Don't even get me started on "Gawjus!!!"
