Bloody Johnsons advert

...has made me immediately want another baby, no AIBU but bloody hell it's made me broody.

Agree that it must be awful to watch for those unable/struggling to conceive. I know it would have killed me to watch it while we fought our uphill battle.

Now I'm 19 weeks pregnant with our hard won baby and it reduced me to a blubbering mess blush

Doesn't get to me nope - well not the bulk of it - the siblings kissing bit does slightly but that's cos that's what my pair are like. I don't fall for the intentionally tugging on the mummy heartstrings stuff as a rule though.

Now if you'd shown me a pair of nice squidgy baby thighs I would have been sold.

Also doesn't accurately portray the fact that DH seems to think bathing one baby involves every single surface in the bathroom being covered with towels, water and bubbles... and him stripping down topless to stop his clothes getting wet - but that's probably just my husband.

Just had a little cry at that advert, it all looked so perfect! (Not like us with my EMCS, bathing baby cackhandedly in the kitchen sink, toxic grandparents who knew no boundaries, DP going straight back to work etc etc).

Makes me want another one, DD is only 6mo.

It was my DH that told me about it. I cried when watching. Never used Johnson's either but that's beside the point. A very touching advert.

And it would have killed me when I was unable to have children. It does make me so grateful now that I'm not in that awful state.

Even DH said it was a great ad last night.

And he's so not a baby person.

Fakebook Mon 07-Oct-13 11:13:55

sad. It all looks so perfect. When we have given our newborns their baths, there's a lot of team tagging and water spillage by DH and me, where we swap holding baby in different positions and then the other sweeps water over and then one person consoles crying baby has they get restless. grin. That dad looks too relaxed bathing the baby!

Just saw the advert - can't say it particularly 'moved me'. As has been previously said, I can't imagine what effect that advert might have on couples who are unable to conceive. It seems to give the impression that a family is nothing without a baby. I just found it a bit hmm

On the other hand - a very sweet DNA Result episode of Jeremy Kyle just bought a tear to my eye. Much more genuine than a staged advert.

It's the sibling jealously following by cute siblings kissing that got me...

HeffalumpTheFlump Sun 06-Oct-13 23:06:15

39 weeks pregnant and it has made me cry four times so far. Fucking advert.

Hell no, fucking hate it-vile, just vile.

Hth

Johnson & Johnson can fuck the fuck off. Vivisecting wankers.
My beautiful DD's have grown beautiful and very much loved without the use of chemical laden, animal tested shite. angry

Alibabaandthe40nappies Sun 06-Oct-13 22:38:23

It is the foot-kissing part that makes me feel soppy. smile

cheese that is so true. sad

It's a lovely advert but it made me think about anyone who wants a baby but can't. It would've killed me when I was ttc.

It made me cry. I am 14weeks pregnant with DC2.

Latara Sun 06-Oct-13 21:56:03

I had to turn it off, I don't want to see cute babies in long adverts when I can't be a mum now/maybe never.

hettienne Sun 06-Oct-13 21:38:17

Awful advert, and I never used any products on my baby, but still made me well up grin I do have pregnancy as an excuse though.

TheCrumpetQueen Sun 06-Oct-13 21:37:01

I luffs it, made me get a lump in my throat

bootsycollins Sun 06-Oct-13 21:35:19

I'm baffled as to what is the actual purpose of Johnsons baby lotion, it's not a moisturiser or barrier cream, my auntie reckons it's just for freshening up baby's bum after a pooey nappy.

HabitualLurker Sun 06-Oct-13 21:34:24

You lot are right soppy bananas. It just made me feel a little nauseous..

Layl77 Sun 06-Oct-13 21:33:37

It made me think "aww that gorgeous baby will get scabby skin off that crap perfumed stuff"

Kiwiinkits Sun 06-Oct-13 21:31:58

Johnson's baby products are Crap with a capital C. I was using (expensive, gifted) natural skin care products on my little girl, but when I ran out I turned to some Johnson's stuff that I had also been given. Her skin got dry, flakey, inflamed. The difference in her skin was so remarkable I've gone off cheap cosmetic products for life. Au naturale all the way for us now.

UriGeller Sun 06-Oct-13 21:29:50

they don't mention it'll make your baby smell weird .

Oh, and its entirely unnecessary to slather a newborn in cosmetic fragrance.

They are already soft and smell delicious.

LadyGoodman Sun 06-Oct-13 21:24:28

It is absolutely grotesque in its mawkishness
