They do actually - 'How to be a paedophile'? hmm

Tesco are to blame. Their website shouldn't allow this kind of thing to happen. How secure are people's details on there? It begs many questions.

PatPig Fri 27-Sep-13 14:51:40

I don't see what this has got to do with people's details.

Tesco, Amazon, and Play.com all run very similar operations where they have absolutely mahoosive databases of products, which Tesco/Amazon/Play do not actually sell, touch or handle, they just act as a directory for smaller companies to sell and advertise their products.

They all import blurb from numerous different sources and the third party retailers can tell Tesco's computers when they have a product to sell. No human involvement. Tesco spent £££££ on IT with the result that they can use their brand name and successful website to take 10% (or whatever it is) off third-party sales made via their website.

Yes but presumably someone from Tesco would actually have to import that description to their website in the first place.

Unless, of course, Tesco have been hacked.

Why do you think someone at Tesco would have had to import that?

It's been done by a computer. That's why it cuts off at the end, the length of the field is limited and the script just truncates it.

Clearly "fake plastic person wearing cunty shoes" ( poss censored as c*nty) would be more appropriate. One assumes, anyway grin

That has to be one of the world's most offensive asterisks.

It's an astonishingly stupid product and Tesco are knobheads for allowing suppliers to upload shit willy nilly. People assume, quite reasonably, that stuff for sale on their website has been sourced by Tesco buyers. If it was Amazon or Ebay we were talking about and they'd removed the product from sale as soon as they were informed, objections would be levelled at the seller, not the site.

It's an outrage!

'Gay' is still seen as an insult by many. sad Oh well. It's gone and life goes on.

PatPig Fri 27-Sep-13 21:12:14

It did actually clearly say on the side that the product is not available.

babybarrister Fri 27-Sep-13 22:31:38

SueDoko is absolutely right - that pasta IS something we should all be boycotting. It cannot possibly be a joke when the head of Barilla pasta says he won't use gay couples to advertise the pasta as he only rates 'traditional' families .... He then 'clarified' that what he meant was that women are at the heart of making pasta hmm - so what about lesbians then?! grin

It's only a couple of months ago that we had a thread on here asking who your gay best friend would be. I protested and was a lone voice! in fact I got told to "shut up" "lighten up" and "F off" by various posters who honestly could not see that they were offensive.

TiggyD Fri 27-Sep-13 23:11:55

It's not the gay best friend that people find offensive. It's the fact they censored GAY like it's a rude word.

0utnumbered Sat 28-Sep-13 00:36:53

People need to realise that 'Gay' isn't the same as 'Camp'...

TrueStory Sat 28-Sep-13 05:38:05

it sort of made me laugh, though seems mist bizarre item to buy in a supermarket. I'd actuslly rather like one. My life is far too difficult/unglamerous to have a resl gay BF. Perhaps this will do?

TrueStory Sat 28-Sep-13 05:38:58

i meant REAL gay best friend :-)
