No wy! That's abusive (although I'm guessing your at the end of your tether!). I have/had a sweary dd and I docked her money each time o heard her swore. This meant that even though she did chores (which she got a small allowance for) she usually ended up giving me mkney as a result. Quickly stopped.

Absolutely not, it's a cruel and humiliating punishment.

No

It would be an assault

If he cannae temper his language in your company then sanctions will be applied. Phone confiscated, allowance suspended, lifts cancelled. That kinda thing.

WEll, apart from being an appallingly written thread title-your suggested actions are in fact assault. And would be investigated by police and Children's services.
And frankly deserve the epithet of the C word.

Er...no.

You would have to actually attack him, to get the soap in.

NellysKnickers · 16/09/2013 17:43

No way, never ever. Does he get pocket money? Fine him each time, or ground him.

SuperiorCat · 16/09/2013 17:43

Agree, it is abusive.

There is always some way to motivate a child to modify their behaviour, that is not one of them

This is a (bad) joke, right?

No I wouldn't. But there would be sanctions... serious sanctions until he gets the idea that he curbs his mouth and shows some respect.

Tbh my dd swears like a brickie but she is 18. At 12 there would have been consequences.

I SAID WOULD IT BE ALRIGHT NOT IM DOING IT .. Can you READ properly or just go on the attack ??!!!!

If you stop giving him money for chores, he will stop doing them.

Have you explained to him calmly and rationally why you dislike the word so much?

Far better to take his things away for longer periods of time. No pocket money, xbox etc until he learns.

Report
peachmint · 16/09/2013 17:46

That is abuse. Don't even think about it.

People are "going on the attack" because you are asking for opinions on child abuse.
