AIBU?

To be a bit confused about Mumsnet Classics?

A lot of threads have gone into Classics, but really that's because people get swept away with it. At the time. The thread may have been funny and those posting had a day or so of laughing, but why does it need to be in Classics?

Does anyone ever look in Classics? Apart from maybe to find the unfunny Pom Bear thread? Confused

I've never read the pom bear thread. I've never ventured into classics either.

They only ever look in classics to link a thread when someone does a "best thread ever"....

Me neither Pascha, well i have read the PB thread with a straight face. I don't even know what's in Classics after they have gone in.

I looked at it once. The Thriller Dance one. Read every fucking post...got to end...and the video had been removed.

First and last visit. Pah.

There are some brilliant threads in Classics. Some are funnier than others but they are generally good! I love the penguin date thread! excellent!

Oh like a 'do you remember the thread where.......' type thing? Then someone goes for a rummage in Classics and the thread is relived Bella? Ooh.

I read a thread that's in classics when it was linked to by a poster on a thread in here (AIBU). I'd missed it the first time around but enjoyed reading it.

pom bear not at all funny

ANY thread that has "mumsnet at its best" on it is uniformly SHIT

You are all miserable. There are some fantastic threads in Classics.

I get that Saggy, but it just seems they are a bit lost to most Mnetters. the Pom Bear thread hasn't even got Pom Bear in the title.

I read Classics and it's fab. Not all of them are funny, such as the one about the drug dependent baby - very sad and at the same time heartwarming, that there are such lovely selfless people in the world.

YES the sinister Easter bonnet.

Sparkling if you haven't seen it - go to Classics now. And don't you dare look at the picture until the appropriate moment.

If I'm bored, I have a read. Some are mildly funny but MN have got hysterical over it for something which actually isn't that much at all. Like pombears. And yonis. Some are great though.

But there is a HUGE omission from Mumsnet Classics which is Ellaroo's river of sweetcorn. I don't know how you can get to see that now, but the newbs have missed out on that one fo sho. Funniest op ever. gavel.

Some people have excellent memories Sparkling unfortunately I'm not one of them

I often drop into Classics. Some of them are a bit "you had to be there" but lots of them are lovely. You can generally tell by the title - if it's a "tell me about your most embarrassing poo incident" then it's genuinely timeless, but if it's a more random title it will have gone a bit bonkers and probably has an associated emoticon/saying.

I've spent many hours reading classics. Some are great.

Is that you UCM? Is in there isn't it? And the links one.

I go there when I'm up at stupid o'clock bfing it's too dark to read a book and there's nothing decent going on on active threads.

You dare Panzee. Sad

I am not being a party pooper honest. It's just that threads being in Classics is all down to opinion I suppose.
