To buy a pair of ugg style boots?

I'm thinking Celtic & co ones.... Basically I want war, comfy, flat pull on boots for the school run. I know there is a vague anti-ugg sentiment on MN... If I were to get a pair, which colour would be best, chestnutty colour or black?

Just buy Uggs. They will last you a long time so worth the price.

Probably go with black.

I think Celtic & Co are meant to be better quality, but I'm not too fussed which I get tbh

I've got brown uggs. I do love them and will probably replace them this year and may get brown again. Lighter ones look scruffy quite quickly and I'm not keen on black.

Ugg do some lovely navy ones too, they are a possibility.

I wear mine with jeans or leggings and with tights and dresses. Ideal for autumn imo!

I resisted these boots for years - mainly as I saw lots of fake ones around where they had collapsed and the wearing was walking on the sides of them and looking very tatty...

Then my DH bought me a pair one Christmas - I never looked back - real ones stand up and are so comfy and warm, and even waterproof if you spray them - I will be buried in my Uggs and I don't care what mumsnet thinks Grin

Get the Celtic ones, I wish I had. I've got proper Uggs but they're less comfy than my friend's Celtic ones and they've both lasted brilliantly. Mine are 4 years old this year and still going strong. Celtic do some ultra weatherproof ones too that you can wear in the rain which would probably be more practical if that's of interest!

Yes, uggs have had their day and need to be banished no matter how comfy.

I have black and brown - the black ones have only started looking worn this year and I have lived in them for 3 years now - including through all the snow!

I will be getting new ones this year - didn't know they did navy - off to shop!

I've got Celtic boots. They are lovely and toasty warm.

I have a pair in brown and a pair in black with a grey cuff. I wear the browns most as I prefer brown with blue denim, which I wear a lot.

Are the Celt boots better then - looking at their site they look lovely, hmm, should I make the switch to Celts this year?

If you like them, go for it. I dislike the cheaper imitation ones purely because they dont tend to have good tread/ support, but thats the primark ones, I take it Celtic and Co are good quality?

Nope. I used to HATE them, they are hideous.

Then I tried on a pair of Bearpaws in TKMaxx and they were so comfy! I bought them and swore to myself I'd only wear them camping (we've never been camping... Hmm) but now I have 4 different pairs and wear them everywhere!

I've got Uggs and Celtic's, the Celtics have more sheepskin in them and the sole is thicker.

I like these.

Also resisted for years but my Bearpaws have gone straight to my list of best things I've ever bought. Mainly used in a trotting out to the corner shop for loo roll kind of scenario, they lasted 2 years before collapsing. Can't recommend highly enough! Do give them a spritz with some weather proofing spray though, enough to resist light rain.

I had a black pair of Uggs that lasted for years. I want a new pair this year, just haven't decided which ones yet. Bearpaw maybe!

Just looked at the Celtic ones, they're lovely. Are you going for calf or ankle height?

I'm rather fond of Emu boots. They're slightly cheaper than Uggs and have a very hard-wearing sole. I've had mine for 5 year, walked miles and miles in them, and just now looking to replace them.

I've got some UGG Adirondack they are chunky leather boots. They were about £60 from Branch309 (Schuh's clearance site) I live in them from September-March Smile

I suffered for years with cold feet as I have Reynauds syndrome. I really was in agony ith chilblains and my feet would go purple then white.

I invested in a pair of Celts and they really have changed my life. If my feet are warm my whole body is warm and I feel so much better.

Buy from Celtic and support British sheep farmers!

Last time I bought proper uggs I managed to rip the front within a week

I was not happy

I find river islands version are sturdy and at £30 if I rip them I don't care!

I'd get married in mine

I hated and scorned them until I tried them on

I've been in them every day since except bar a day or two at the beach in flip flops

The Celtic ones look better.

When I see someone in Uggs I assume they're the cheap knockoffs. I guess because I lived on a really tough estate in a shit town when they became really popular.

The Celtic ones look classier.

I've just impulse-bought those Celtic ones in mocca online. They look so comfy. I'm newly pregnant, exhausted and constantly running after toddler DD, and these boots will save me Grin
